You don’t think a German Leopard 2A7V hull in German service is German enough to get a German shell only because it has a French turret that is fully compatible with German ammunition…?

Otherwise we’ll have a situation where the EMBT, with the Leclerc S2 turret but a vastly improved hull and an improved round, sits at the same BR as the standard Leclerc S2. Just unbalanced. The EMBT is already better than the S2 just via the hull.
In my opinion, Leclercs should just be 12.0-12.3. At their current state, they are hardly 12.7 material.
It makes sense that the much more modern, advanced and heavier EMBT would be the pinnacle of the French tree as of now.
Leclerc S.XXI could get SHARD, though!

It’s not a 2a7V chassis in the first place it’s a 2a7+
And fully compatible isn’t proven to work with longer rounds like dm53 yet

Two different cannons means two different shots. Different breach, different loading mechanism means different shell. Due to it being a Leclerc turret, it should be a OFL 120 F1

Leclerc’s gun is fully compliant with the NATO STANAG 4385 standard for 120×570mm smoothbore ammunition, so it certainly should be able to fire it! After all, standardization was always important for NATO tanks.
Suggesting that “different cannons means different shots” simply displays a lack of familiarization with NATO’s standardization policies.
