i ask myself if planes which have no maw will get any warnung about the launch, since if correct implemented there would not be that much of a radar signture and older rwr should not trigger or know the radar
I think the best case scenario for us would be Gaijin silently and quietly removing/nerfing the missile straight into the ground after the heat’s died down a bit. They’ve made it clear they will not be making a response (because they have none) and that the missile will most likely stay in the game at least for the short term.
If I had to guess they might replace it with a different missile down the line and make up a reason as to why they’re doing it, but it is also entirely possible they just leave it in the game and say absolutely nothing. Unless someone with a lot of following behind this game pushes for change here its probably not going to happen. Again this is speculation but their behavior is rather suspicious.
I’m guessing there will be A LOT of bug reports on this specifically once the dev launches, but we’ll have to see what happens.
The stat card values are completely irrelevant anyways.
Yeah, IRIS-T is likely one of the most anticipated missiles in general, so there is likely already a lot of research by the community that has gone into it and it’s capabilities. We’ll see how it goes eventually when the DEV-server opens up :)
Not if gaijin does something like force the missile to self destruct at a certain altitude (which is definitely something they’d do) in which case it’d be very important.
It could also have an effect on certain characteristics of the missile when it comes to modelling it so I’d say it is definitely important
Missile self destruct is currently tied to guidance time, not flight altitude/attitude. That’s very unlikely to change.
No? The stat card values have no impact on that at all. Check the missile data sheet if you want, statcard values have no impact at all on missile flight performance metrics.
can’t wait though, gonna have to grind out the Lvkv and the ItO over the next week to get ready for it on the dev, can’t wait to try it out.
It should especially be good against those pesky Eurofighters that like to dip over the horizon just to fire off a bunch of brimstones at once as you can move without having to guide the missile and also hit them behind cover.
Brimstones are laser guided, not FnF.
They have IOG which makes them effective at firing at SPAA who hold still, which is why they shoot them off then dip after they’ve shot a few at a target.
deleted.
About time a proper SPAA for the Swedish TT
Best I can do is 3.5km helicopter lock range, take it or leave it
I hope they dont model that rear wagon as a trailer. irl its a two parted band wagon and both parts have their own engines. If the rear one is modeled as a trailer then the mobility is gonna be awful.
trailer spotted.
That is a Crotale NG console, not a IRIS-T truck.
Then the channel lied about it. I removed it.
So realistically, we are in no better of a situation than we are now. The Kh-38MT and the Pantsir still out-range everything; including this. So what’s the point? If they don’t give it a better IRIS-T missile, there is genuinely no point in adding this.
A lot of CAS flies in way closer than maximum standoff range, that’s why the Type 81 is statistically performing so well. Systems like this are incredibly deadly to anyone that just wants to take their chances to dump their air to ground payload in one quick pass. So they should help push CAS back some.
