Why dont u add the SL version of the missile so we have something that can counter the USSR spam of ICBMs?
.
I just dont get why u refuse to give the rest of the nations things can that match the PANTSIR against the supersonic missiles that outrange everything that can counter it on the ground.
I don’t understand people complaining about X and Y nation not getting this and that. You should realise that it’s just a question of time, we will get it all eventually. Have a bit of patience my lads.
There’s a general frustration at the fact that only one nation has been allowed to dominate the SPAA aspect of the game going on two years now. To say better SPAAs are way overdue for everyone…seems to justify the discussions and requests.
Like you might as well brace for it now. If the US gets passed on a more modern SPAA (or equivalent to be competitive) or there’s upgrades to the ADATS as someone mentioned, then theres going to be some backlash.
i still dont like the fact that 3 nations will have 40 km range sams, that will make every other nations spaa useless, even more drastically than the pantsir did
the pantsir went from 12 km to 20
and most nations had 10-12 at that point
now we are going from 20 to 40
while every nation but russia still has 10-12…
Who is getting 40km range SAMs? So far we have seen one with 12km range and one with 17km range. That leaked SLM launcher for Germany can theoretically launch SLS missiles, so it would be limited to 12km as well.
However, Germany is not only wasting time and resources with this approach, but also wasting opportunities. Diehl Defence has made a number of changes to its air defence system for Ukraine, which were introduced by Ukrainian soldiers based on their experience in the ongoing war. One of these concerns the combination of IRIS-T SLM (Medium Range) and IRIS-T SLS (Short Range).
The SLM and SLS missiles are different. SLM interceptors are significantly larger, but also have greater range and extended capabilities. SLS are smaller, cheaper and identical to those used by fighter aircraft. As Ukraine’s air defence is constantly in a state of emergency, it needs a mix of weapons that is appropriate for the attacker, the ammunition supply and the budget.
Diehl Defence actually managed to combine solutions for both systems within a few months, so that Ukraine can now deploy its IRIS-T SLM in combination with the SLS. Both systems and the combination are not only mobile, but also battle-tested against Russian attacks.
However, instead of recognising Ukraine’s certifications and adopting those systems that have been jointly developed by combat-proven air defenders and industry as a result of war experience, German procurement practice remains the same. And the German plans do not envisage a Ukrainian solution, but an IRIS-T SLS based on the Boxer: The anti-aircraft missile tank (FlaRakPz), which is to be developed as part of the Nah- und Nahbereichschutz (NNbS) programme."
Germany literaly just returned a IRIS_T SLM to diehl because the current crane used in ukraine doesnt fit their safety requirements.
all other ground launched AHR have 40kms range, so was an assumpion
and yes syder doesnt have to come with derbys, but the python 5 has the same body as a derby with different seeker i think, so would still have 40km range
If the German ones cannot launch SLS missiles then there is simply no way that Gaijin would add the SLM with realistic specs. They either give Germany one of the launchers that were modified for the Ukraine or they nerf the SLM to be in line with the other nations SAMs.
