Honestly i think at this point it should’ve stayed at 11.3 with good pen at range

132mm of LOS penetration at 1500m ?

Gaijin ?

@DirectSupport i assume you have plans to make a bug report concerning the penetration values of the round?

Unlikely they’ll come back to it since they followed that report

https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/d0vCChzcjbPh

But somehow managed to understand it incorrectly

We will see if a decent report can be made tonight (European time).

Edit wareta made an internal report on that :

Also shouldnt the pen be higher than slpprj m/01 on the strf9040c

Hopefully they get to the second aspect of my report.

no, but it should be about where it was before they nerfed the velocity loss with distance.

yes for some reason the velocity loss with distance is insane. You would expect about -120m/s/km. It’s -200m/s/km in game…

all they need to do is increase the density to 17550kg/m^3, reduce the working diameter to 9.3mm, and decrease the velocity loss to 106.7m/s/km.

If they gave it 175 mm of pen and increased the br i would be ok with that
Including the velocity loss

note its 175mm at 60 degrees, that translates to about 152mm, so a slight nerf from 160mm. But substantially better at longer ranges compared to what it is currently.

Yeah i figured
Ik that irl the pen at 0° is around 200 mm + for the in service round
Would be nice for the jaguar but that would be stretching it

Eh?

People calculated it using the round length and density with another formula
I forgot what it was but it resulted to that
Theres probably more to it that i don’t know so take this statement with a grain of salt

The APFSDS round in-game right now is the actual in-service round to my understanding, and that’s what people are trying to fix.

From what i can see, the issue might come from the fact that the shell is to light. On the dev server it is 0.34 kg, however if you look on the CTA international website, it is stated that the shell weight is 0.55 kg.

Considering that the gun was made by CTA, could this be consider the manufacture website and be a primary source ?
I am going to keep diging and if i find anything i will share it here.

This is not the issue… the issue is the shell has too high a calibre(11.7mm instead of 9.3mm) for example. The speed loss is just under double what it should be!

i was talking about the penetration values. My bad i didn’t specified.
But if i find anything that could help reduce the speed loss i will post here to.

the penetration at 0m is slightly too high(because the diameter is too high), but drops off way too much due to the drag. They fixed the round mass but didnt reduce the drag it seems.
