Easy Fix for Spawn Camping

They aren’t wrong on everything, but they sometimes say things without a second look.

I always thought that the issue was that “Spawn-Camping” is as common in this game.
Though I could agree that in some ways, It could be improved by negating the risk of doing so.

Such as…:

  • Constant Bombardment of Artillery that is Accurate and while your in that zone.
  • Progressive Damage the longer your in the Zone.
  • Increased ‘invincibility time’ WHILE you’re in the zone +10 second ‘While moving’
  • 5 Second Border-line timer once it tells you to leave this Area: You’ll explode.

Point is that it’s ridiculous that the Spawn-Camping is a Viable feature in War-Thunder.
Though I also am not trying to condescend the problem. Additionally

It’s ridiculous to see teams allowing enemies to get to their spawn in the first 2-3 minutes of the game.
This game has a lemming problem, spawn camping is just a by-product of that.

The map design doesn’t help in a lot of cases, Carpathians A point having a dirct line of fire into BOTH of the south teams spawn points for example, or European province where you get LOS into the spawn before you even get to the A point so you either have to stop and camp their spawn or get killed from their spawn trying to get the point.

You can just leave if people are in your spawn… no penalty.

The lemming problem is “skill issue” and you can’t predict people choose the same spawn location like you.

To be honest I don’t mind the spawn camping, sometimes you can even get a kill or 3 of it. However I do like the suggestion of TS. To make the area like other ‘red’ areas and give enemy tanks some secs to get out or they simply get destroyed.

Spawn camping is so bad they even spawn camp air spawns while losing

“no penalty” like you dont get a 5 min crew lock for leaving

Like I said as well, I never had a real problem with it because you could always get out of it or at least kill 3 or 4 of the 5 people spawn camping before spawn protection ran out.

But now, it’s 2 BMPTS that are impossible to kill in 1 or 2 shots, 2 T80s/72s, and jets spawn camping all at the same time making it impossible to do anything.

“spawn camp you if you let let me” kinda hard to stop you when you completely ignore the objectives, flank all the way around the map, in an impossible to kill bias machine and then sit in our spawn

Crew lock is disabled if enemies are in your spawn.
This has been a feature since the death timer has been removed.

It literally isn’t

Problem isn’t the people majority of the time, it’s the fact the game encourages it while making it impossible to get out of.

Weird… the dozens of times I left early when the enemy was in my spawn and I had no crew lock afterward…
Along with the ten-thousands of other players that have experienced the same thing.

On top of it being told to us in-game as well.

Sure buddy. willing to bet every time you “don’t get crew lock” is because its the end of the game and you either don’t have spawn points or it’s past the 9 minutes. If you get spawn camped and leave you still get crew lock, plenty of videos showing it on reddit as well.

There are 3 ways to not get a crew lock:
1- Enemy is in spawn.
2- 9 minutes have passed.
3- Used all crew slots.
4- Out of spawn points.

This is well known, and you’ve been informed about number 1 multiple times now.

If you get a crew lock, it is because someone wasn’t in your spawn, or a glitch occurred.

Been said one time by uou, not a single other post anywhere online about this mechanic, multiple recent videos showing it still happeneing including my own experience not even 5 hrs ago. If you leave the game with spawn points before the 9 minutes, you get crew lock. Doesn’t matter if they are spawn camping you or not.

And for context, I left this match in the image and got crew lock. Enemy fully in my spawn, but guess what, still had spawn points and was only 7 mins in so I had crew lock.

Isnt going to fix anything, im just going to stay at the edge of the spawn zone to kill whoever decides to get in if the match has already progressed so far where enemy team crumbled. Or if it gives me 30 seconds to work with, im just gonna pop in, shoot, kill, pop out. And then youre back at square 1.

The way to fix it would be to make better maps with less funnels, more play space, more flanking options, sufficient cover (i.e. not just a huge flat map with few rocks like Tunisia) and most importantly more spawn points.

Unfortunately according to bvvd who clearly knows best, players dont want larger maps. We clearly want to play CQB angle camping CoD lookalike so nothing is going to change. If the trend of recent maps like Attica are a signal for anything its that its just going to get worse over time.
Plus gaijin keep making maps smaller no matter what bvvd said in his QnA because even if the “physical” map isnt getting smaller, the fact that half the map is red because of the gamemode layout says otherwise.

Its like saying youve not pissed yourself, youve just released your fluids in your pants. If the playable area is smaller then the map is smaller, i dont care that its only X out of Y layouts that reduce the size, multiple maps have that and you can go from one small layout to other. (The other day i went from 38th parallel with half the map being red to Normandy with again, half the map missing)
