Duplicate Vehicles: Why We Add Them

I sure love the 17 Challengers that play the same- so unique. Oh wait, by many here, “play the same is C&P”, so them all playing the same is C&P unless you like double standers.

But it’s clear you are arguing that any variant of a vehicle outside the designer of the original variant of the family is C&P, so here: Copy and paste Sherman, everyone: Sherman Firefly | War Thunder Wiki

It’s still just another challenger 🤷‍♀️ all 7 in game are basically the same. I definitely just don’t do the difference between unique tanks so I’m going to be ignorant about it. No more challangers should come since they are all the same

So true!

They haven’t remodelled the Merkava in four years without Leopards being in the Israeli tree, bro. What strategy? Why would they need a strategy? They could just keep doing what they’re already doing, that is to say, ignoring the small number of players who complain about the Merkava. Clearly they think it’s fine as it is. They don’t need a Leopard to come to that conclusion. Evidence: because they’ve already done it for four years!

Sir, there are only 10 Challenger tanks… and only 7 of them are tech tree, and no the Challenger’s aren’t copy paste, because like i’ve said they’re unique to the British tree, there are no other trees with Challengers. And they’re Not all the same.

You’ve seen to have missed the point here entirely, luckily other people haven’t, so i’m just gonna end this here.

Considering your point is that the vehicle you are complaining about being C&P would be unique if the Leo’s where only in the German tree with the Challenger argument. Yes, it is the same, and thankfully most agree, as seen by the like ratios.

That’s known as double standards.

But you made your point: every vehicle family should have one vehicle, as variants are C&P, even more so when it’s a variant never built/used by the designer nation and only unique if added to the designer nation, even if they rejected it without testing.

Yet leopards are? Even when they are unique…

Too simplified a poll unfortunately

Copy-pasted vehicles have their place, especially when they fill gaps domestic designs can’t address (Heavy tanks in the Italian tree, SPAA, top tier jets for countries without a large aerospace sector)

But the over ruse in game has lead to a real dilution in what makes trees feel unique and an increase in grind without a matching increase in value

I voted no, but in saying that not all copy-paste is bad. I prefer copy-paste TT vehicles with unique camo to be sold as premiums instead of unique vehicles. Copy-paste to fill a lineup where no domestic alternatives is fine as well.

The issue is Gaijin is just throwing around sub-trees to add top tier Leopard 2’s and Abrams as band-aid fixes for minor nations. As an Australian I’m thankful Gaijin finally put all of our vehicles in one place, but I have preferred a new combined Commonwealth Realm tree. Because does Great Britain really need Challengers, Abrams, T-90’s/Bhishma, and Leopard 2’s (Canada potentially in future)? A Commonwealth Realm tree would have limited that to just Canadian Leopards and Australian Abrams, while India and SA could have formed their own new tree.

not really, look, once they add more vehicles usually they make the ammount of vehicles you need to research to go to the next tier bigger, just look at what they did once they released the thailand subtree to japan air tree, before you could literaly just research 2 lines of the entire techtree and reach toptier getting only the exact ammount of vehicles to reach the next tier, what about now ?, you need an average of 3 extra vehicles on lower BRs to reach the next tier, which increases by ALOT the required rp for in the end you get to the same point as you wanted before.
So lets supose you want to get the F15J, for you to do it your gonna need to at least get 14 extra vehicles researched just to meet the required vehicles on the next tier , even worse if you want to get the su30mkm, which the line itself required for it doesnt help much and in the end your pretty much researching the entire techtree before being able to even start the research on the su30

All that just to completely miss my point

So can we get a strumtiger tech tree tho?

The Israeli TT is the still the smallest by a lot

Best Gaijin would do is add the SU-380 for Russia, the one Sturmtiger the Soviets captured and evaluated, with some new skins and Insignia.

And as an Event Vehicle probably.

They don’t do that for event vehicles.

wdym? you said sub trees are optional, the top tier stuff might be, however all the bulk added aswell in most cases isnt, in the end depends on how they implement this one, if it happens just like they did with the japanese air tree bet it would add plenty of extra grind for vehicles you might dont give a s about…

Which again, they are. Idk what you’re trying to prove while using the sole exception to try to make your point stand.

Depends what aspect air or ground? Vehicle quantity yeah very small, RP wise air they last I checked prior to Greece were not the least RP required nation to get all air vehicles

Nevermind they were, thought they were a lot closer to Italy or old Japan RP wise
