Interesting… how many bombs does it drop?
If I hold space with the “S” ripple quantity, it starts dropping everything like the drop series bind did before.
With other ripple settings won’t work
Ah yeah, that is correct. “S” stands for Sequential, that is the way you are suppose to obtain that result.
Though interesting its working with “Drop bomb” I am unable to replicate that behaviour. Unless do you have “fire secondary weapon” also bound to spacebar?
That’s what I did. Before the update I activated and fired missiles with MB4 (mouse button) and dropped bombs with space. So I never binded “fire secondary weapon” before
Try setting spacebar only to “Fire secondary weapon”.
Use “Switch secondary weapons” to make sure the right bombs are selected.
Use “Seocndary weapon ripple quantity” to cycle through the options
And then you should just have to press spacebar for it to drop the deisred amount OR with “S” selected, press and hold for the amount you want.
(you can also select other wepaons and fire them using spacebar now as well with this method if you wanted, including AAMs)
So, I changed my “fire secondary weapon” to Ctrl+space. This way I’m replacing the bomb series bind that doesn’t seem to work anyway.
I already had “Fire air-to-air missile” in space bar.
Thank you for the help
Ah, so not a big change then, anyway, is the other ripple modes working now or still being wierd? Or do you mainly just want the Sequential mode?
Whenever I need to drop a specific amount of bombs, I find it easier to just press the spacebar multiple times in a quick succession
Fair enough. If you ever want to try and troubleshoot why other options arent working, or want to get bomb series working, just give me a shout, i’ll try some more troubleshooting steps
By the way, ripple mode works with rockets as well, just in case you ever need it, one kinda nice advantage over bomb series
I set up the Drop series keybind, and it does NOT work for me.
Did you try setting the exit weapon selection keybind, and trying to have that bomb series key also set, and use that to try dropping them? (As per Morvran_'s suggestion)
@Morvran Existing weapon selection mode does work for bomb series, the problem here is, I bind all the weapons in 1 single button (AGM, bombs, GBU, AAM,…). What shall i do? This method worked well until this patch
Trying using weapon selection, fire them all using "fire secondary weapons " then you just need a second binding for “switch secondary weapon”
Enough with this nonsense. If anybody from gaijin reads this. Revert back. We want our good old Drop Bomb Series back.
New patch arrived today.
Drop Bomb Series has already been solved!!!
Update 2.29.0.31:
A bug that caused dropping bombs in series to not work with the “Bomb series” option disabled in the settings has been fixed.
Still not wor working for me im confused
Same issue here but there is a work around which is another key bind to remember. Bind a key to “Exit selected weapon mode”. Before you drop your bombs, press the the new key you had configured for “Exit selected weapon mode” and you should be able to drop all your bombs with “Drop bomb series”. Hope Gaijin fixes this ASAP.
this is the fix. The error message was because bomb series was functioning incorrectly with weapon selection (regardless of what you picked in the spawn menu, it would dump all bombs) Im guessing there was no way of fixing the confliction in the code, so instead they blocked it and added an error message, requring you to exit weapon selection before using bomb series. If you are already uisng weapon selection, just use ripple modes
The thing that I hate about this work around is, if you have to cycle the secondary weapon and drop your bomb series after a cycle or shooting a missile it would not work sometimes unless you hit the key bind for the “Exit selected weapon mode” again. With 16 vs 16 and millions of missiles flying around sometimes I forget that I need to hit the new key LOL. Need to build that muscle memory I guess.
