Driver Timeout since AMD Driver 26.8.1 with DX12

After Login i get a driver timeout and the game crashes. With 26.7.1 everything was fine.
Has someone no problems with this driver using a RX 9070XT with WIndows 11 latest patches and Adrenalin 26.8.1?
I tried the usual steps. Deleting Shader Cache and temp. Warthunder files. Driver reinstallation after using DDU. When using DX11 the Game runs normally.

You can bug report it here: Gaijin.net // Issues (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about)

A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)

Win 11 have some some problems after their last updates, for example:

Same problem here. Fatal errors, no Graphics Card found, Driver Timeouts… everything since upgrading the Adrenalin drivers to 26.8.1. under DX12.
With DX11 everything runs fine.

Have updated also but no problems at all with DX12, use Win10 instead of bullshit Bugfest Win11

Same issue yesterday AMD updated to 26.8.1. Needed to DDU the driver and reinstall 26.7.1 with factory reset of AMD settings to get DX12 to work. With it its rock solid so something with 26.8.1 does not play well with WT.

Also if anybody does this dont forget to disable automatic GPU driver update in AMD adrenaline.

Active Issue here so make it there more visible

I’m having the same issue since the 26 August update for War Thunder. Prior to that, I was able to play the game, but am unsure if the graphics driver updated at the same time that WT also updated. Tried playing again the game almost posted to the hangar, but crashed after the driver hung up and restarted.

There is a issue under investigation with this driver when running Apex Legends/War Thunder DX12 causing a driver timeout/hang. We hope to address this in a future update. The workaround is to roll back to the previous driver or use DX11 mode, if available.

Yeah, it’s just started happening to me for the first time ever (9070XT)

same here 9070XT also, the best fix right now is to not use latest drivers and just use the drivers from 26.7.1 instead

Are you all in Win11?
Because I’m also in the latest driver from AMD and have no problems with DX12 and RT, but I’m using still Win10.

I had to roll back to Adrenaline version 26.7.1 which worked for me just to get War Thunder to work. I am also using a 9070XT

I am using Windows 11, I think the issue is with 9000 series cards like my 9070XT which had an issue when logging into War Thunder. DX11 works fine with this new update but… For some reason I find I have lost quite a bit of FPS and felt a bit “choppy” using DX11. Probably because I can’t use FSR 4 but idk

26.9.1 is out. Everything works fine now!
