Dreams Come True 2026 Predictions

and if it’s an event plane it’ll probably be 12.7 for a couple months lmao.

british stuff tends to not get such pleasures. only time ive seen that happen was with the shir 2, but i think that was because gaijin thinks thermals actually matter for vehicle performance.

Scimitar mk2 was DOA, honestly it still is with the fake FCS issue. and the latest british addition is well… A hawk 200 without all aspect missiles as a crutch facing the F-86 every game. the CA27 is doing good at least, but thats giving a sabre to a couple minor nations, it was always going to be performing well.

image

You say that as if the Scimitar Mk2 was ever going to be a good vehicle in WT, especially after seeing the regular Scimitars performance

how dare you

it was never going to be S tier but it would be solid at 8.0 i guess

It’s a Warrior, but worse

the apfsds is shockingly potent ngl

still. scimitar slander is forbidden

Nah they did the XF5U which died in a matter of a week if not days last year and i think DCT vehicles are more appeasing when they are tanks thus let me introduce the FCM F1 and Why the FCM F1 Should Be Added to War Thunder as the 2026 Dreams Come True Event Vehicle

Introduction

The FCM F1 would be an excellent candidate for the 2026 Dreams Come True event in War Thunder. The event is an opportunity to introduce unusual, rare or historically significant vehicles that players would not normally expect to see in the standard research trees. The FCM F1 fits this idea extremely well because it represents an ambitious tank design that never progressed to a completed, operational vehicle. It would bring something genuinely different to the French ground forces while giving players the chance to experience a machine that exists mostly in historical drawings, technical proposals and surviving design documentation. Most importantly, the FCM F1 would not simply be another heavily armoured tank. Its historical background, distinctive appearance, potential gameplay advantages and serious limitations would make it a memorable addition. If implemented accurately and balanced properly, it could become one of the most recognisable French event vehicles in the game.

  1. Historical Background and Development

The FCM F1 was developed by Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée, a French shipbuilding and engineering company that also designed armoured vehicles. In the late 1930s, the French military became increasingly interested in a new generation of extremely heavy tanks that could break through powerful defensive positions.
France had extensive experience with heavily armoured infantry-support tanks, including the Char B1 bis. However, the FCM F1 was intended to take the concept much further. Rather than merely supporting infantry or fighting other tanks, it was envisaged as a specialised breakthrough vehicle capable of attacking fortified enemy lines.

The French requirement called for a tank with very substantial protection and armament. Several companies explored different solutions, but the FCM F1 became one of the most ambitious proposals. Its design incorporated a long hull, a large main turret and a second turret positioned towards the front of the vehicle.

The project developed during a period when France was preparing for a possible major conflict with Germany. The French military placed considerable importance on fortifications and breaking through defended positions, so a vehicle with the FCM F1’s proposed capabilities had an understandable strategic purpose.
However, the situation changed dramatically in 1940. Germany’s invasion of France, the rapid collapse of French resistance and the subsequent armistice prevented the FCM F1 from reaching the production and testing stages required for an operational tank.
This distinction is essential: the FCM F1 was a genuine historical development project, but it was not a completed tank that entered combat. Its proposed specifications should therefore be distinguished from characteristics demonstrated by a physical prototype.
That would not make it unsuitable for War Thunder. The game already provides a setting in which historically documented prototypes and incomplete development projects can be represented, provided their implementation is grounded in credible technical evidence.

  1. Technical characteristics and proposed specifications

The FCM F1’s greatest attraction is the scale of its design. It was intended to be a super-heavy tank with substantial armour, a large crew and powerful armament. Nevertheless, because it never became a completed, tested vehicle, some figures reported for it vary between historical references and reconstructions.
The following table gives a cautious overview of the commonly reported design characteristics rather than presenting every number as a proven production specification.

Armour protection -
Armour was one of the FCM F1’s most important characteristics. Early design specifications called for protection of approximately 100 mm, while later requirements sought to increase armour thickness to as much as 120 mm around the vehicle. This change would have increased its weight and reduced its speed.
Armour section Proposed thickness
Hull front Up to 120 mm in the revised specification
Hull sides Around 100 mm in commonly cited layouts
Turret armour Around 100 mm in commonly cited layouts
Revised overall protection requirement Up to 120 mm around the vehicle.

These values should not be treated as a fully documented, final armour layout. The design changed during development, and the intended production configuration was never completed.

In War Thunder, this armour would provide the FCM F1 with a strong defensive foundation. Its frontal protection could resist some lower-penetration guns, particularly when the vehicle was positioned carefully. However, its enormous dimensions would make it difficult to conceal, and its armour would not guarantee survival against powerful guns, ammunition aimed at weak points or attacks from the sides.

That balance is important. The FCM F1 should feel heavily protected without becoming invulnerable.

Main armament: 90 mm cannon

The main turret was planned to carry a 90 mm gun, commonly identified as the 90 mm DCA. It was positioned at the rear of the vehicle, above the hull, with a high-mounted arrangement intended to allow the gun to fire forward over the smaller turret. The design’s main armament evolved from earlier proposals involving a 75 mm gun.

For War Thunder, the 90 mm gun would be the vehicle’s principal means of engaging enemy tanks. Its effectiveness would depend on the exact gun configuration and ammunition supported by historical documentation. It would be inappropriate to assign it modern ammunition or invent a precise penetration value simply to make the tank competitive.

The main gun would offer several advantages:

Strong direct-fire capability: a large-calibre gun would give the vehicle a credible means of fighting armoured opponents.

Potentially effective armour penetration: the final performance would depend on the historically appropriate ammunition and the gun’s actual characteristics.

Useful damage potential: a well-placed penetrating shot could disable several crew members or damage important internal components.

A distinctive firing arrangement: the elevated rear turret would give the vehicle a recognisable silhouette and make its gun layout different from that of ordinary tanks.

The principal disadvantage would be the need to manage the vehicle’s large size and slow movement when lining up shots. It would also be necessary to verify the main gun’s elevation, depression, traverse limits and reload time before implementing it.

Secondary armament: 47 mm SA 37 cannon

The smaller forward turret was designed around a 47 mm SA 37 anti-tank gun. This would give the FCM F1 a second independently aimed cannon rather than relying entirely on its main weapon.

This is arguably one of the most interesting gameplay features. War Thunder’s multi-weapon controls could allow players to engage different targets with each turret, subject to how the game implemented the turret controls and firing arcs.

The 47 mm gun could be useful for engaging lighter vehicles, targeting exposed opponents or saving the main gun’s ammunition for more dangerous enemies. Against heavily armoured opponents, however, its effectiveness would be much more limited, especially when attacking the front.

The arrangement would also create a practical challenge: the forward and rear turrets would have different fields of fire. The vehicle’s own turrets and hull could obstruct shots at certain angles, so players would have to learn how to position it correctly.

Machine guns and other proposed weapons
The FCM F1 is commonly described as having six 8 mm machine guns for close defence against infantry and other vulnerable targets. Some secondary references also discuss a proposed twin 20 mm anti-aircraft installation, but this should not automatically be treated as part of the definitive FCM F1 configuration.

For War Thunder, the most historically defensible starting point would be the two cannons and the documented machine-gun arrangement. Any additional anti-aircraft weaponry should only be included if a sufficiently well-supported version of the design can be established.

This would make the tank versatile without giving it weapons merely because they would be useful in gameplay.

Engine and mobility

The FCM F1 was planned to use two Renault V12 petrol engines producing around 550 horsepower each.
Together, they would produce 1,100 horsepower.

Despite this, the tank would still be slow because it weighed around 140 tonnes. Its planned top speed was only about 20–24 km/h.

This means it would be better suited to pushing forward carefully and defending positions rather than rushing around the map. Its size would also make it difficult to move through narrow streets and find cover.

These weaknesses would help balance the vehicle and stop it from being too powerful.

  1. Why it would be unique in War Thunder

The FCM F1 would bring several features that would make it stand out from other vehicles in the game.

First, its enormous size would make it one of the most recognisable tanks in the French ground forces. Its long hull and two turrets would give it a very different appearance from ordinary tanks.

Second, its two cannons could make the gameplay more interesting. Players would need to learn how to use both weapons effectively and position the tank so that its turrets could fire without being blocked by the hull or each other.

Finally, its heavy armour would give it a different role from faster tanks. It would be suited to supporting teammates, holding important positions and advancing slowly under fire.

It would not be perfect, though. Its slow speed and large profile would make it vulnerable to enemies that could attack from the sides or avoid fighting it directly.

  1. Why it should be the Dreams Come True event vehicle

I believe the FCM F1 would be an excellent choice for the 2026 Dreams Come True event for several reasons.

A rare and unusual historical design

The FCM F1 was a real tank project that never reached completion. Adding it would allow players to experience a vehicle that was planned for the battlefield but never got the opportunity to fight.

This fits an event that celebrates unusual and interesting vehicles that players would like to see in the game.

A reward that players would want to collect

The FCM F1 would be a memorable event reward because of its size, armour and two-turret design. It would look completely different from most tanks and could attract both French tank players and collectors.

Players would have a reason to work towards unlocking it because it would offer something different rather than simply being another version of an existing tank.

More variety for French ground forces

The FCM F1 would give France a unique super-heavy tank. It would also introduce players to an interesting part of French military history.

Instead of adding another conventional tank, Gaijin could introduce a vehicle with a completely different design and battlefield role.

This would make the French ground forces more interesting and give players another reason to use them.

  1. How it could be balanced

Although the FCM F1 would have strong armour and two cannons, it would need to be balanced carefully.

Its main weaknesses would be:

Slow speed: it would struggle to reach important positions quickly.

Large size: it would be easy to spot and difficult to hide.

Limited manoeuvrability: narrow streets and difficult terrain could be a problem.

Secondary gun limitations: the 47 mm cannon would struggle against heavily armoured opponents.

Historical uncertainty: because the tank was never completed, some of its final characteristics would need to be reconstructed from available plans.

Gaijin should use the best available historical information when deciding its armour, ammunition, reload speeds and movement characteristics.
Its battle rating should also be chosen based on how well it performs in combat, rather than simply because it is a super-heavy tank.

If balanced correctly, the FCM F1 could be powerful when used in the right situation without becoming impossible to defeat.

If this has not convinced anyone yet who sees why the FCM F1 should be the Dreams Come True Event 2026 hopefully below will

The FCM F1 would be an excellent addition to War Thunder as the 2026 Dreams Come True event vehicle. It was a real French super-heavy tank project designed to break through strong enemy defences, and its planned characteristics would make it one of the most unusual vehicles in the game.

Its proposed 139–145-tonne weight, armour of up to 120 mm, 1,100-horsepower engine and combination of a 90 mm main gun and a 47 mm secondary gun would give it a distinctive role. At the same time, its slow speed and enormous size would provide weaknesses that could help balance it.

Most importantly, the FCM F1 would offer something that many other vehicles cannot: the chance to use a fascinating historical design that never became a fully working tank.

For these reasons, the FCM F1 should be considered a strong candidate for the Dreams Come True event. It would be a unique reward for players, add variety to the French ground forces and bring an ambitious piece of French tank history into War Thunder.

Too whatever maniac actually read this i hope you enjoyed :).

The heresy never ends when you consume the Killogs Khorne Flakes

Really though, the Scimitar Mk 2 definitely would be better at 8.0, but I still wouldn’t use it lol
My lineup is 8.3 and I’m an ATGM kinda guy, so the Scimitar would just waste a spot

Holy wall of text

I respect the passion for the FCM F1 and would love to see it being added

Still not reading all that lol

see im a CVRT enjoyer and the centurion is based, so 7.7 and 8.0 are my bread and butter

Now, you know what would be nice? A Scorpion!

And no, I won’t settle for a Sabre just because it uses a Scorpion hull.
