Thats not totally true large diameter projectiles will remain active for significant distances even in high ballistic trajectories
You can fire artillery guns at helicopter airbases if you calculate the elevation and azimuth and they can actually make it over there and hit players on the ground
Great, so you could hit a tank, if it was located at the helipad or the airfield
I know that you can hit helis over there, but you aren’t firing straight upwards to do so

How you’d guide it isn’t the problem, it’s how it would work at all, since you cannot use the howitzers as artillery on the small maps we currently have.
As a sidenote, I would be 100% against SPHs getting access to UAVs.
That being said, the XM2001 would be kinda cool, but not a DCT worthy vehicle.
Maybe use the same map targeting as Aircraft?
Just click a grid square, fire, and the shell goes for where you click? Wouldn’t be super precise, But would allow you to pick off snipers and such.
Also you 100% can use them as artillery with Guided Shells even at the short ranges in game, would be a little difficult but
Apparently the quoted minimum range for M982 is 8km.
WT ground maps are at most 4km x 4km.
To add onto that, provided the shell doesn’t just despawn before then, it would take around 2 minutes for the shell to come back down, when fired at the steep angle that is needed for such a short range artillery shot.

We got the F-16XL recently, a Dreams Come True worthy choice itself. The last time we got a famous plane, the F-117 Cockroach 🪳, the Dreams Come True Event Vehicle was underwhelming, the KV-7. It made quite a few people wish that it had been the F-117 instead. So, will this years DCT Vehicle be bad?
We still have not received the Su-15 Flagon, a kinda meh soviet Interceptor, but maybe that thing is an absolute Dream Come True from the Russian Forums?

That does fit all the DCT vehicles so far very well, even though the TOG II doesn’t seem like it

TOG II: Huge, unwieldly tank with a ability to add a smoke howitzer and (unusable) machine gun ports

The Su-15 Flagon doesn’t seem nearly unusual enough though, considering how many similar designs the USSR had in service (Yak 25/28, Su-9/11/15, MiG-25/31, Tu-128), but on the other hand, there really aren’t that many vehicles as unusual as the four we had so far.
