Dr Strangelove Or How I Learnt To Hate Nukes

Agree with the OP. It distorts the game for no reason. Additionally, it provides an additional reward for all the players running illegal mods. As it is now, just another reason why lower BRs are the most fun.

It’s a team game. Your team mate has done well enough to win the game and end the round. Be happy for them. Stop only thinking about freakin’ SL and RP. If you were good enough in that round you would have had enough to go around. But really, what you really mean is the nuke player stopped you from going to spawn camp some enemies towards the end of the round they’ve been dominated in (which was from the work of the nuke player to begin with).

I definitely don’t think they should be deleted, but I do feel like some extra requirements wouldn’t be bad. Like for example, lower the SP but make it so you can only spawn it if 2 of the points are yours or if you have more tickets.

It does get annoying how a team can be winning, have every point and more tickets, yet lose simply because one person got a nuke when everyone else on their team sucked.

usually how nukes happen are one person on the team for example will be carrying the whole team if he gets a nuke and you cant stop him thats a skill issue

especially at 7.3 the nuke plane being a B29 that cant even defend itself properly from 262s

even spookston struggles with same things many high kill players ive seen also say similar things

dropping a nuke is hard if your team is beyond dog water

at that point they deserve it honestly cannon fodder teamates kill this game go play 6.7 every countries teams have beyond mid right now it may not be your fault its your teams fault for allowing it just like how it isnt his fault for having bad teams

i do think if someone nukes tho while loosing or gets near a nuke they should receive rewards similar to if they had won the match and them alone not there team as they usually dont do much to benefit it

I got shot down in the nuke bomber the other day (slow-ass B29) and the enemy fighter apologised to me. I had to laugh. I would have been mad if he didn’t try shoot me down. Ended up telling him to not say that, and that I would have done the same to him. Since I go out of my way to take nuke bombers down. I was actually more mad at the friendly fighters on our team who decided to dance around me with acrobatic smoke on, instead of going ahead and taking on the enemy fighter heading for us.

This is why actually nuke is good. A player can change the tide of the game if he does good enough

Exactly. If your team is so bad that one player has to carry enough to get a nuke he deserves it.
And it’s not like the nuke is an insta win. You can still be shot down before getting to the battlefield gicing the enemy chances to defend themselves.

I never said they didn’t deserve it. I just think it’s annoying how you can be winning all game but one person get’s to drop a nuke and end it. If they drop a nuke while losing it should just end in a draw instead.

cope post because one player did better than you

Such a dumb take, honestly. If your team keeps feeding an enemy kills to the point the enemy player gets a nuke, your team deserves to lose. Regardless of whether you have all the caps or the majority of tickets. It’s your job to have awareness of which enemy players are doing well and to target them and prevent them from getting the nuke.

even if they get it so what? If your team is winning by a landslide anyway you can probably muster up some planes to shoot it down

Such a dumb take, honestly. If my team holds every point, has killed everyone on the other team at least twice, and never had less tickets than the other team, the other team deserves to lose, not win because one person managed to get 8 kills.

I think the F111 was supposed to be a low altitude dropper as well. I could be very wrong though :p

it is with terrain following radar actually btw

If the winning team allowed someone to gather 2.5k SP and get to the battlefield with the nuke they don’t deserve to win

you see the Blackburn Buccaneer is such a cool bomber, everyone wants to be like it

It’s up to you to stop that person from getting those kills. Pretty simple. Your team failed. When I’m in game, I’ll press tab every now and then and see if an enemy is anywhere near the nuke. I’ll then position myself on their flank and try take them out. Call it situational awareness, call it teamwork, call it adapting to the battle around you.

And Tanks rushing blindly around a few square kilometers with unmanned machine guns while capturing white circles is realistic?

the issue with that is “cheap” nukes, I posted one earlier in the thread but Ive gotten nukes with a shocking low number of kills.

imo nukes should have a hard 12 kill requirement along side the 2500sp requirement or not count SP from scouting and assists etc
