I seriously doubt it does. So many times, my 101mm pen shot is stopped by a 50mm plate, un-angled, no ricochet, just straight up non pen. Or there was a time the short German flak 88 penned my slightly angled jumbo ufp (not mg port), even overpressuring my crew, and protection analysis conveniently had it as a non pen, as it often does. Other times it will just “forget” suspicious shots and not show them at all. In no world should T-44 cheeks be tanking multiple 122mm APHE shots, intersecting armor doesn’t mean infinite armor, it’s just plain common sense. My 239mm pen shot even non penned someone’s 12mm armor. Which one is bigger, gaijin? 12 or 239? Is that too hard? And we the players get to pay repair costs for their mistakes, over and over again. Fix the game, it’s not that hard
Dont even get me started on this. Entire system is screwed sideways upside down. My fav is the JagdTiger. 128mm round yet it bounces off 100mm plate. Or 20mm being able to kill me in a panther or tiger.
Addin the HE round hitting 20m from you and killing your entire crew. These people pretend to understand tanks armor etc but in reality its all designed to push players to buy premium tanks, use their RP to skip tiers or upgrade tanks along with crews.
Its a gotcha system. Too bad there are too many that cant accept this game is a scam and defend it no matter what. Thats why it wont change.

Add in you get shot in a track and somehow your gunner, gun or breach is damaged. Breach and gun are the strongest parts of a tank yet supposedly some shrapnel fragments hit and its useless.
Breach is one of the weakest parts of the tank. Are you just spreading misinformation for the fun of it?
Have you ever seen a cannon breach? Or typical armchair knowitall? Breach is solid hardened steel. I dont care what this piss ass game says. Tanks go down, crew have to blow the barrels so not be reused.

This is why its asinine to have this occur literally every shot. Ultimately its another gold farm metric. Break your gun enough in the hopes youll drop gold to get crew levels maxed etc.

The Sherman tank recovered and repaired battle damage is showing a cloudflare error but this is high level. At any rate, the breach damage in this game is multitudes over exaggerated to push crew sales.

Idk man, maybe because a tank can still shoot if you hit the barrel, and its a small target? while the breach is a massive block of steel, it also contains hydraulics which can be destroyed. Spall travels at supersonic speed in the tank, and its usually molten, so it can definitely damage the breach.
The barrel damage is unrealistic though. You should be able to shoot with a damaged barrel, even if it means you might just blow your barrel and breach and kill the crew. The breach should actually be more prone to damage, since you know, theres a live round in there.

Irl, its not the place you would aim for. The front of the turret usually has the most armor.
I think i lost my breach/barrel like 4 times last time i played and that was for 2 hours.
