Does the amount of fuel taken affect the weight and maneuverability of the aircraft in War Thunder?

As far as I know, the maneuverability of the aircraft and its weight depend on the amount of fuel taken. But one person, also a War Thunder player, proves to me that the amount of fuel taken does not affect the characteristics of the aircraft, and even the developers said that they did not add this. Does anyone know for sure whether the characteristics of an aircraft depend on the amount of fuel taken?

I have always believed it to be the case, haven’t heard of anyone to say otherwise until now.

Like @Norris_Aznable said, I’ve always believed it has affected flight performance.

Can you show how this person told you it did not and where the dev said it didn’t? Just out of curiosity

They are greatly affected by the amount of fuel on board. Ofc there are planes more affected and planes less affected.
Not only it changes the total weight, but also weight distribution.

Your friend is wrong.

Thank God he’s not my friend

Yes it 100% does. Always take minimum unless your in rockets or jets

Wow… I have a few things to say…

  1. This person may be crazy XD
  2. You took the word of a stranger(?) and if they can’t prove it don’t believe it…
  3. They are probably miss interpreting what a dev said…

Fourthly they might just be a forum mod or community manager. They are often mistaken for devs but they are just forum users like the rest of us here.

Some jets still need to take an incomplete tank or a minimum with outboard tanks.

Oh yeah that too. It didn’t look like the forums, so I didn’t think abt including that part abt other community leaders

I take Min in my F-5’s and a single drop tank. Works fine for me

I just decided to check what I know. Of course, I didn’t believe him, because as long as I’ve been flying, I’ve always known about it.

I take for F-16C almost minimum and a single drop tank. Love speed…

Yeah for sure. That’s why I said minimum but also being general.

Yeah easy example is the take of run of a jet with full fuel and without. It’s the same with props too of course but jests can be almost double the take off run. The other way is flying identical planes with friends using different fuel level. Less fuel takes off faster.

Thank you for your answers!

Which is why it’s annoying that some planes are forced to take over an hour of fuel when games last 5 minutes.

At least for Helis it does. The EC-665 with max fuel load and ordinance can’t climb anymore.
