With the recent Spearhead major update, most helicopters have now gotten the ability to aim the main cannon with the pilots HMD. All helicopters that I have tested with this ability IRL have it with exception to the Rooivalk, which doesn’t even have a semi-accurate cockpit or HMD. Yes, most helicopters don’t have their correct HMD symbology but with most of those the reason is simple like classified symbology or whatever but the Rooivalk’s HMD has been the same since it entered service and we have known what the TopOwl HMD looks like since the EDM prototype was shown to the public in the 1990s.
The Rooivalk likely also have the wrong zoom options as it uses the same French sighting and target designation system as the EC665 Tiger HAP and HAD. The EDM tested using the also prototype HAP sight while the production Mk.1 used the HAD sight.
I might be wrong in this, the information I needed to link the 2 was hard to find (mostly just seeing the names of the models of sights) but I have done a lot of searching on old forums with things said from people who knew what they were talking about even in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
Gaijin please just give the Rooivalk its proper HMD, even if it just works like the current standard HMD and let us aim the gun with the pilot, it was always meant for the pilot to aim and fire
