The O-I is an 100ton super heavy tank being developed in Japan in early 1940 with the 120ton O-I being developed in 1944. None of these are said to be built with the only surviving artifacts are a singular track link and some blueprints.
I may be wrong with some of this information, but I hope this helped you.
O-I, Type 120, or Mi-To would have been a japanese super heavy tank/landship. It can be on War Thunder in some way but, as much as I want, as much as others want would need to stretch the rules by a lot, the closest of the O-I being built was a single tracklink.
It was passed to them, though it doesn’t seem like they ever added it. As of yet, I hope it comes; it will probably be around 6.3 in terms of BR, lower than the maus but still reasonable for her size.
It was at least partially completed, only missing (functional) turrets and the main roof plate iirc, but this partially complete vehicle is known to have been tested. It was eventually scrapped, the track link isn’t the only part made, but the only part surviving.
The Japanese O-I is one of my favorite tanks out there. I think it would fit perfectly for 6.3-6.5 Japan line up for despite its weight it has 1-105 mm gun and two smaller guns and a twin machine gun on the back. Terms of history there is at least some evidence supporting that it did get built and even tested before it was scrapped with only a single track length remaining. I think this would make a very cool event tank for Japan as a premium as there’s isn’t much of a way to add it cleanly as a tech tree tank unless they treat it like the Maus.
To be honest, I don’t think vehicles with less than 40% completion should be in the game. At least most of the body, or most of the turret, should be completed. It is more appropriate to appear in the game like this.I’ve had enough of the void and the second dimension of the tank world. That’s why I gave it up.
As seen with the german Maus tank and many other non super heavy tanks prototypes are currently in game plus many more on the way (most likely) however the one prototype i never hear talked about in anything gaijin related is the Japanese super heavy O-I which if added could be the same br as the Maus at 7.7 as it features a single 105mm main cannon with two (or 3 depending on what image you search) 70mm cannons with a armor profile of just 200mm this tank wouldnt be over powered in the slightest but it would be a great addition to the lacking Japanese ww2 tree many ww2 Japanese heavy tanks arent even in the game i would love to see gaijin add this one tank even at premium prices i would happily buy it world of tanks has it and when i use it in that game it definitely is alot of fun its the only reason i go back to that game from time to time
Maus will actually built, and if i am not mistaken O-I super was never built and was a paper tank. If it was not built, it should not be added (Even If one O-I would have been built, I would have agreed upon it’s addition)
