I used to play lotto and did the same - with zero effect.😎
From a neutral and sober perspective liking or disliking certain maps can’t have an impact as it would extend queue times and might affect the desired effects of putting maps in or out of the rotation pool.
Therefore it seems logical that a hard ban (as attached to a premium account = money) is limited to one map only.
From a holistic perspective you can see this like/dislike function as a kind of rather cheap customer feedback tool for your map designers (assuming they have such things) - or as an additional parameter to analyse customer behaviour / preferences which might be helpful in offering more individually tailored products.
If gaijin would actually care about customer preferences we would see less CQB maps for the fellow Ground RB players or way less either too small or way too large maps for certain BR slots in Air RB.
Okay…i was adding some humour and colloquialism…guess the message was lost with it…
Statistically (a branch of math, which is an exact science), when the odds of an event depend on a function (which i admit i dont really know) that adds positive and negative odds, the weight of such odds will impact the result. Short version, a function with the number of players with like and dislike maps at any given moment will impact the map all players get…and more players with “likes” at any given queue would mean a greater odd of ALL PLAYERS (including those with “dislike”) getting a specific map.
But YES…if you go with “know”…then i don’t know…it is possible that likes and dislikes are ignored and the function actually won’t use them…can be pure RNG only. But…WHY?
IMHO that “interpretation” would be a bit paranoid as it would mean devs would add a function that does nothing…i ASSUME that if they added the like/dislike function they will at least implement a version of it…
And BTW…it would have ZERO effect on queue times…it can be a weighted RNG that would simply increase the odds of more liked maps and decrease the odds of more disliked maps…AS the number of players on any given map has no effect on performance, map selection has no effect on anything…
EDIT:
I do “know” that when i dislike Vietnam i very very rarely get it…when i disliked Volokolamsk i would still get if on occasion…
(I assume a lot more players dislike Vietnam than Volokolamsk )
i have severk banned because i grew tired of playing it every second match. I had italy banned before it, but id rather suffer in italy than play severk for the millionth time
Short version:
I BELIEVE that Gaijin has a like/dislike system that will consider the selections of all active players and give a map that PROBABLY is within the likes of most and PROBABLY is outside the dislikes of most :)
IT is my personal experience (i.e gut feeling)…but i DONT KNOW. Would be dumb to ask for like/dislike and ignore it…
nah bro this not Democracy it’s Gaijinism. BTW if you want the devs to listen to votes then go play Minecraft coz the Snail only cares about Cabbage the Russians make.
I had the caps mixed up - corrected in my post now.
Have seen different versions of the map online, but recently IN-Game it appeared as “A” - which was in my original post.
Team goes to cap on Hill regardless of 3 caps.
The map promotes stupid team-play.
Were the numbers you quoted my KD rates? If so… irrelevant to the discussion. I don’t care at all about KD. The modes are DOMINATION and I try to help the team win by taking (and holding) the caps.
I suggest rather doing a vote on making all maps accessible to all BRs. and not maps by vehicle, that’s pretty stupid. and I would remove some maps from the game from the singulars by occupying points and maps especially occupied by airports.
Whoever is voting for Air Spawn Golan as their favourite map needs to face the wall. I have it disliked, meanwhile I have Spain liked. I never get Spain, but I am constantly in Golan.
