when fix, they accepted but no fix of this are there any responsible moderators for that reports? developers know about this problem or no?
They take years to implement this sometimes, just because bug reports are accepted doesn’t mean they will go through with changes unfortunately.
A slight hint at confirmation from CCTV7.
I can’t find youtube sources but things do exist currently exclusively on CN platforms.
However this has confirmed that ZTZ99A is at least planned to mount GL-6 APS.
Currently only seen on douyin.com on 央视军事
Likely, although no official designation has been given. As with J11A, it is unlikely it is given a separate designation to ZTZ99A unless there are more changes we are not currently aware of.
Btw, I don’t think that is GL-6 on here.
It seems to be a different system, similar to what is seen on this thing:
Also, we call this in China “Greener than a Minecraft creeper”
it’s just a model for APS testing.
Well we have seen the real thing, be it just a test model, we can be assured that the original pics were not made up, PLA is planning on using GL6, especially as GL6 is only applied to VT4 o far.
this is the wrong part I point out, the APS on 99A and GL-6, are one for export and one for service, and there is no evidence that they are equipping both two the same time, just tested together.
But new problems have arisen
They changed the model, so it looks better now…
And then after that, cut a giant weakspot area in the turret cheeks, nerfed the UFP armor unhistorically, didn’t fix the reload or the penetration of the sabot, didn’t add spall liners, and did all of that without citing any sources or giving a reason.
Arguably, 99A is in a worse state now than before they “fixed” it.
The model was changed without reworking the internals. They just removed armor that didn’t fit the new model instead of repositioning it, making the frontal armor weaker than prior to the rework. Its actually a lot less survivable now since they also added the new autoloader module. There is so much room inside of the ZTZ-99A turret that it allows spalling from glancing hits to spread and break the fragile loading mechanism.
A half-assed rework if I’ve ever seen one, similar to the Challenger 2 “rework” which really didn’t change much.
I see.
About the reload speed; is there somewhere I might find info on that?
There’s the Thai tanker manual for the VT-4 that shows the maximum fire rate of the main gun to be 9 rounds per minute, which translates to 6.7/6.5 seconds. VT-4 shares components with the 99A so it isn’t far-fetched for the 99A to share an autoloader with the VT-4.
Reload is said by Gaijin to be a balancing factor anyway, such as the Stryker MGS having a 7.5 second reload when irl it can reload in 6 seconds. With the state of CN top tier tanks, I don’t think a reload buff is an unreasonable request.
But Gaijin (mainly its main developer) would say this: If the Kytay ZTZ99A and VT-4 are getting a buff to their autoloaders, so are the T-72B3 and T-90M
Which is nonsense becuase the 99A doesn’t have the exact same autoloader as the previous generation; upgrades took it to 9 rounds instead of 8 per minute. The russians just made one that accepts longer rounds for their tanks.
