The thing I find the funniest is that Gaijin is almost implementing these features selectively. The fact that Gaijin is adding spall liners for PLZ05, which means they are aware that China does use spall liners for their vehicles, and it being a 2000s era vehicle at that, so there are no technical bottlenecks that would apply for vehicles like ZTZ99A or VT-4.
There are a ton of images that show clear spall liner cladding in at least the turret sections of the vehicle, whether it be the sides or the roof. For example, this is an image of the VT-5 export tank’s turret and you can see it quite clearly. Unfortunately, Gaijin does not accept images as evidence.
99A is using a different type but you can still see the folds of the material coming loose. 99A even has the spall liner above the ammo carousel.
I remember they accepted it. it’s just gaijin is lazy about fixing existing vehicles, if they had enough information, they can do it, if information is submitted in dev server, it’s also possible but harder, but in live server, it’s very hard to make gaijin change

ZTZ99A and VT4A1 perform extremely poorly. Even worse than M1A1 gift pack and T80UE1 gift pack.
The two 12.0 vehicles are worse than the 11.7 vehicles. Only has a competitiveness of 11.3.
The lowest penetration power, the slowest loading time. And huge weaknesses. Immediately explode after being hit, with no ability to struggle.

Yes, smaller, similar forward speed, same rounds, same armour profile, the only thing would be the exposed top of turret which can be shot through by even 40mm APHEs.
I would argue original ZTZ99 actually has smaller weakspots than 99A and VT-4. Only in War Thunder is the predecessor vehicle a lot better than the newer one.
So i think we need to demand the fix of chinese top tier because it’s really sad, tank are extremely poor compared to another tanks

The real thing China needs is an 11.3 Squadron vehicle to lure in a bunch of noobs and crash high tier winrates. Nothing is going to change with the ZTZ-99A and VT-4a1 before that happens since China’s high tier winrates are too high.
