but gajin doesn’t seem to accept that the merkava is first an 80 ton veichle and not 65 tons, has modern era into its armor, and has been able to take multiple kornet missiles and still survive.
Can we like aircraft, determine the final cost based on the type of ammunition used?
thats were i dont agree, they can add the hsvd adams at 12.3 and later the spyder-aio with a limited amount of derbies or add derbies later. Bceause gajin said grom-2s will be coming , just not now, so i think for now like a limit of 4 derbies or 3 would be good or just add them later
tbh, I don’t think the developers will restore the Merkava’s armor in a “historically accurate” way. Instead, they will likely use another approach to make it capable of competing against the T-80s, as this has already been proven countless times.
Balance > bias.
Since your post is taking the side of bias, you’re going to disagree with most people.
Grom-2s are trash weapons, literally the worst weapon on Su-34 before they were removed.
Derbies would make SPAA OP which isn’t fun for the same reason CAS being OP isn’t fun.
Also artificial limits aren’t added on vehicles [outside A-10A].
u do have really good point tho,But I have to say, the reason the Grom_2 was removed is not because it was the “worst weapon,” but because it was one of the most efficient. You could almost immediately use it to devastate the battlefield as soon as the match began, and then repeatedly perform that action to earn a huge amount of RP in a very short time. If you’ve played on the DEV server, you’d know that the Grom-2 was an extremely efficiency weapon ever
Can’t the current Grom-1 do the same thing? Maybe it’s because I don’t know enough about it.
No, the reason Grom 2 was removed was because of irrational backlash.
The most efficient weapons on Su-34 are Napalm [4 bases of damage, and center-line bombs with napalm is 5.5 bases of damage]l, GPS guided bombs, grom 1 + UPAB-1500B [2.9 bases of damage], Grom 1 [2 bases of damage].
Grom 2 is 1 base of damage, it was objectively the worst loadout. It was never the most efficient.
It’s hilarious for a system that can’t even handle a helicopter attack against an Israeli 12.0 SPAA.
There are a few of them, zealots of sorts, who join random threads only to spew their horrible uninformed takes and try and paint themselves as superior (surprise to no one, they are tought to act that way from birth). I wouldn’t mind it if they at least knew what they were talking about, but I had one come into the british typhoon thread to tell us that the EFT should fight the F-22 if it gets ASRAAM or IRIS-T, utterly fanatical
i was talking about the cruise missile variant, is it the grom-2? Anyways what im trying to say is that there range increase can allow the potential that even the addition of derbies wiukd struggle
the thing is even with the merkavas getting there irl armor, they still wont be better than the leopards and t-80s, the would be around russian area of perfromance
Grom 2s are GPS guided, thus wouldn’t be used in ground battles.
On top of that, the range increase over Grom 1s is ~10km.
Misleading. What makes the KH38 good is the speed, it has a higher top speed and can maintain it’s high speed for much longer than the Mavericks. Mavericks cannot be used at long ranges because it takes a significant longer time to reach it’s target compared to the KH38. Hence why you see the KH38 being used 10-15km away much more than the mavericks.
The only time I’ve seen players praise its speed are those that don’t use it on the forum.
While I may not have used it on live, I have used in on dev server in custom matches.
And speed was never a consideration cause either the tank will die to someone else or not, and that’s the same with PGM-500/3 and AGM-65.
On top of that Pantsir’s missile has a maximum height that I haven’t discovered yet, but that maximum height allows the same things as everything else: Gravity assist.
Incorrect. The time it takes to hit a target matters. This is a universal amongst all weapons. This is a fact.
KH29TE: 22 seconds (launch at 500m going 650 km/h) at a 8km target
AGM-65D: 32 seconds (launched at 500m going 700 km/h) at a 8km target
AGM-65D: 1min 10 sec (launched at 6000m going 850 km/h) at a 8km target
KH29TE: 47 seconds (launched at 6000m going 800 km/h) at a 8km target
KH38 has generally a better performance than the KH29TE so we can infer that the the time it take to hit a target would be noticeably less.
To bring the topic back to Israel, now that I’ve either completed, or just about to complete all 3 TT’s, my take on the general state :
Air :
I generally think the majority of the tree is in an okay place. There’s some hidden gems like the Flz. Raketes on the Spitfires. The Ayit, and some not so hidden gems like Ra’am, which is arguably king of the skies right now.
But the tree has a chronic and desperate lack of domestic munitions at the higher end. Things which could use Python / Derby don’t get them - and to my mind there’s not a single domestic A2G munition. The only one is, hilariously, is in the Italian tree (Lizard).
I don’t think we need anymore top tier aircraft for a while, we need just need domestic munitions modeled for what we already have. I don’t want to see the Sufa come to the game limited to the same American copy paste as Ra’am / Barak.
Heli :
I grinded through the bulk of the tree with Peten, as it’s largely just US exports, but I found Lahatut very fun, if not very effective.
I found Saraph to be very dissapointing (as with other Apache’s). Hellfire-K’s just don’t cut it anymore, F&F has become a necessity. I really hope this thing can be given Spikes one day. It’s odd to me that Gaijin said they were considering this in like, October 2023, and then added AH-60?
I’m not sure why we needed a new thing, and I’m even less sure now that it’s clearly deemed acceptable to have x16 spikes why Saraph can’t get them? Maybe they just didn’t want to annoy all the other Apache operators? Idk.
Ground :
Good lord, where to even start :
-
Chronic lack of auxiliary’s the entire depth of the tree. Poor AA / TD / Light / IFV options spread few and far between. Makes it impossible to build healthy, well rounded lineups at the vast majority of BR’s.
-
Every domestic vehicle being absolutely giga-botched in its capabilities, but most specifically protection. Merkava, Namer and Sholef are a joke in this game.
-
Probably the weakest top tier lineup in the game ? Machbet / Chaparral are hopeless, Namer is just a mess. Merkavas are not as bad as they used to be since the reload buff and those two shells behind engine being removed, but they’re just so big and lol-pennable, that they suffer in 2A7/122/BVM pixel weak spot meta. HVSD/ADAMS / Spyder needed desperately, followed by the likes of Eitan, Pereh etc.
-
No update addresses or helps any of the above points. Every addition is like… ‘Here’s a 3rd/4th/5th MBT at its BR range’, and that’s great in a vacuum, if there wasn’t such desperate and pressing need for other things. Tree’s issues have felt stagnant since its initial introduction.
My next goal is to go through and spade everything I glossed over, and to max out all my crew slots, but yeah, overall, I think this tree needs more TLC than any other.
I expect that with it being the newest, and having a decade to catch up on the others, but the priority order the snail is going about helping it is completely backwards. They add depth in abundance in where we need it least, and completely ignore the areas we need it most. Really hope priorities are improved in 2025 and beyond. Based on leak list, seems Namer IFV is coming December, so hopefully that’s the first step in the right direction.
These were found in the files of the new Dev server :)
What are they?
Is the second bomb a bunker buster?
SPICE 250 and 2000
EO munitions basically. Extremely long range.
