Short Summary
This thread collects community feedback about War Thunder’s battle economy and research mechanics.
We ask Gaijin to make battle reward formulas transparent, remove the Golden Eagle requirement for free RP conversion, lower helicopter tech tree research costs, add permanent pity mechanics to permanently available Silver Lion crates, improve the daily free loadout system, cut down low-value reskin bundles, and sincerely listen to player feedback.
If these core issues keep being ignored, veteran players will continue to lose trust and leave the game.
- Yes, I agree with these demands
- Partially / Neutral
- No, I do not agree
Longtime paying player here. Gaijin silently reduced battle rewards and evaded community data showing these changes. Free RP conversion is locked behind Golden Eagles. After setbacks in other projects, multiple in-game mechanics have become more burdensome for veteran players. Our requests: transparent battle reward formulas, remove GE requirement for free RP conversion, ease helicopter tech tree research costs, add permanent pity to permanently available Silver Lion crates, improve the daily loadout system, reduce low-value reskin bundles, and seriously listen to player feedback. The continued investment from players sustains this game.
Similar requests are being discussed in the English forum. The development team usually pays attention to feedback from the English community.
I have played War Thunder for many years and invested considerable time and money to unlock vehicles. I do not intend to provoke conflict. As a long-time paying player, I wish to share widespread concerns within our community and hope the development team will take the player base seriously.
1. Battle reward adjustments need transparency
Battle reward changes were implemented without prior notice. Players discovered reduced earnings through data collection, and the issue was initially denied and avoided. Only after conclusive evidence was the change acknowledged, yet reward values were never restored. The team often cites underlying code limitations as justification. Numerical adjustments of this nature are directly perceptible to players; such changes should be announced in advance instead of being implemented silently.
2. Free RP earned in battle deserves unrestricted conversion
Free research points earned through hard-fought matches should belong to players with greater autonomy. Players should not be forced to spend Golden Eagles to convert their battle-earned RP. Players invest large amounts of time into matches and deserve full control over research resources they earn in combat.
3. Game Operation & Content Planning
Market dominance does not justify ignoring player experience. War Thunder is a major revenue source for Gaijin. When other company projects face setbacks, the response has been to shrink battle rewards and release numerous reskin bundles, eroding trust among veteran players. New player retention suffers, long-time players keep leaving, and many community requests remain unresolved. Player support for this game deserves respect.
Our requests for the team to consider:
- Fully publish the formula for battle rewards. Any changes affecting rewards or RP gain must be announced beforehand; silent, unannounced adjustments are prohibited.
- Re-evaluate the free RP conversion system. RP earned by players in battle should not require Golden Eagles for conversion.
- Review past unannounced reward nerfs and rebalance reward values. Avoid using “underlying code limitations” as a blanket excuse.
- Reduce low-value reskin bundles, and redirect manpower and development resources to improve core in-game mechanics.
- Reassess total research costs for the helicopter tech tree to ease excessive research burdens.
- Keep Silver Lion crates permanently available and add pity mechanics to mitigate negative experience caused by random loot rolls.
- Revise the daily free loadout system, adjusting the distribution rules for free loadouts and vehicles across all nations.
- Take player feedback seriously; do not avoid or brush off concerns raised by the community.
Player patience is not endless. If these requests continue to be ignored, and battle economy / research mechanics remain unimproved, player trust in the project will keep declining. Some players will stop spending money, stop recommending the game, and share objective, honest reviews. This game cannot survive without its player community.
I have deep affection for War Thunder, which is exactly why the accumulated issues with core mechanics feel so disappointing. I hope it does not take a mass exodus of veteran players and falling revenue for the team to finally listen to community voices. By then it may already be too late.
I understand this feedback may be unlikely to get an official reply. Even so, I hope to pass on the real voice of the player community. At minimum, we have voiced our concerns.
BVVD, please respond directly: How will the team address these concerns regarding battle rewards, free research points, reskin bundles, helicopter research costs, Silver Lion crates, and daily loadouts? Provide clear answers.
