Did the aim9B received a buff?

So I’m interested in what you experincend? Did the aim9B got a buff. Since the last time I think they pull way harder and have less drag because the somehow hit 2km rear aspect shots when both planes are going at the same spped. Also the fuse feels way bigger than befor. That what I have experinced.
What about you?

I don’t thinks that’s the case,… but maybe you learned/have better launch parameters for such missile, making to them to perform their best

But somehow they kill me although they shouldn’t and wouldn’t hit when launched by me back in the days

I imagine if you sent a replay of this happening, we would tell you its a pretty basic shot

2km is like the maximum range, maybe even at high alts, if it is sea level I don’t try to shots further than 1,5-1,7 km. Also the missile is still really limited, it only works if the enemy has the self awareness of a rock… which that means it’s going to net you a lot of kills considering the average WT player, but it still isn’t good. You probably just got better.

Yeah the thing is someone launched a aim9b at me he was 1,7km away and I even turned away at its proximity fuze just killed me

If the launching plane is going near mach 1 and you don’t manoeuvre hard that’s going to catch you. You probably didn’t turn hard enough. As I said the missile isn’t good.

Maybe instead your plane received a nerf recently. For example after the F-104 nerf they now lose so much speed that if you are under 2km behind them you can reliably kill them with an AIM-9B if they made a pass and are slow and accelerating again.

Back in the days, i prefered to use 9B’s over 9E’s
Because i launched 9B’s in better parameters than 9E’s

I also used a lot of 9B’s lately (JASDF premium F-86F40) and they were doing great when launched correctly.

Those missiles aren’t just bad,…
Ok, they are low performance missiles but they were the best of their time (comparing to R-3S which doesn’t do as good)

So again, maybe those 9B’s were launched better than what you did back in the day.
