Yeah, I’m totally with you there, and think they should just model it after one of the 5
Aye, the problem is Gaijin has the same standards for change and documentation as they have with WW2 tanks. The info simply isn’t out there and under their current methodology, you cant prove changes to their mostly opinion based designs.
It just needs revision to the process is all. But I do think they should model SEPV2 to one of the 5 vehicles. Leopard 2A7 is incredibly strong and giving abrams a stronger LFP would be a pretty decent change that still doesn’t make it more powerful than Leo.
Still though - I think there’s just not enough conclusive evidence to prove it
There is a whole other thread about DU hulls.
there isnt enough conclusive evidence to say it doesnt either, so why does gaijin take a stance based on little to no evidence?
i think american mains are going about it the wrong way. isnt there enough documentation that the armour was improved in sep and later sepv2? you should be trying to increase the armour DU or not. i think ive seen documentation that you tried passing because of DU.
So then? When are we getting another devblog for the Challenger 2 now a massive new wave of bug reports have been submitted about the proposed changes in this dev post?
Smin said they might do another Dev blog once the changes are live on the Dev server.
That’s something then. Will be interesting to see if they actually fix anything or not
I’m personally not expecting any major changes any time soon.
I would be happy with a meaningful start in the major update, but they need to commit to a large number of changes and improvements over the course of the next 2 major updates.
You’re definitely a lot more optimistic about what is going to end up happening than I am. I think there will be some minor remodelling and tweaks to make it look like they’ve done lots, but ultimately nothing will have changed.
That is what I am expecting for the changes proposed in this dev post. But I hope that is a stepping stone for the next 50 or so Dev posts needed to fix the Chally 2. And the Chally 2 community is certainly not going to let them get away with anything less than that
Challenger 2 should be made as accurate as possible.
I cannot understand why anyone would ever push hate against Challenger 2 or those of us in here pushing for its improvement.
Try not to make the conversation about you - Challenge (impossible)

and its not classified for once :)
If gaijin still believes that the outer armor is 30mm and without rotor, it should be like(My opinion):
@Fireball_2020 @DevilO6
the gap for the rotor pins is about 150mm wide, and filled with the bearings. so it would only be worst case 150mm weaker, but the pins should be modelled and so it wont be as big.
This is why they are remaking the challenger model, hopefully it will have the actual armour correctly modelled.
