C already changed the seeker compared to A model. CW front-aspect with limited shoot-down to PD all-aspect with full shoot-down capability. C+ only improved on that with newer electronics

+1 here for a boost, if that does anything.

The refusal needs a straight answer, I wont, and im pretty sure every one else here, accept B.R excuses or it being an advanced aircraft. They know we want the F14D as a tech tree vehicle, even just retrofitted A’s or B’s into D models ( -F14D(R) ) < that is an applicable version to add as a tech tree variant.

He’ll never be a TT vehivle, accept that he’ll be a premium in the future. At best, we might get the ST-21 as a tt vihicle or an event.

F-14D in its current state is downright P2W. Same weapons loadout as the F-14B with better radar, which matters a ton to F-14s in general…

Anyone defending it keeping the same weapons as 14B and not moving up in BR is defending quite blatant P2W.

No , At worst, it’s a pay-to-fast game what’s happened now has simply happened to many other premium before.

So you’re saying the better radar of the F-14D won’t give it any advantage over the F-14B, and certainly not a big enough advantage that it should go up in BR? Especially when the current EF/Rafale/whatever vs EF/Rafale/whatever with AESA BR divide exists?

It will give a slight advantage, but it’s minimal, it’s nothing dramatic. It’s still a mechanical radar, just with all-aspect Doppler pulse. The only reason to up the aircraft BR is if the AIM-54C+ is fitted with an all-aspect Pulse-Doppler seeker

It also gets access to a functional EOTS / IRST sensor that the F-14B arbitrarily lacks. even though the TCS blister is modeled.

“It’s still a heavily modernized mechanical radar, just improved in every way + doesn’t drop locks when the enemy makes a 1° turn with all-aspect doppler pulse”

“Oh yeah it’s still a bomb, just a nuclear one”

F-14B have EOTS , in IRL f-14 never have IRST sensor

The only change that might be useful is to have an all-aspect radar . That’s no reason to up or to say it’s pay-to-win

I don’t think you quite understand how massive that is for the F-14 of all aircraft. It lets you pre-notch better, lets you lock targets you couldn’t before, results in more consistency in general… The only reason the A and B aren’t higher is because the AIM-54’s current abysmal state and their front-aspect-only radar sets handicap them.

Post-2003 Link-16 capability is also important for reasons formerly discussed.

At the current state Anti Radiation Missiles shouldn’t even be added to the live server.

ALR-23 is a what?

I hope the source will confirm that the entire fleet of F-14Ds was equipped with Link 16

F-14 Iriaf is 13.3 just because FAKOURS

Find an F-14 A or B using the IRTS sensor

Sure, as soon as we can find sources for entire fleets of T-80 with TVD, entire fleets of YAK-141 capable of launching their munitions, and entire fleets of Iranian F-14s equipped with the R-27R1 :P

Edit: Also, from US Naval Institute:

Notice how I didn’t mention that one because the insane state of fakours (and ability to equip R-27R1s that IT CAN SOMEHOW ALSO DATALINK TO) make up for a lot of the F-14A airframe’s faults.

Now, a historically accurate D equipped with block-60 engine AIM-54 ECCM would likely be around the same BR as the F-14A IRIAF or a little higher, which is just fine because then IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE AN F-14D INSTEAD OF AN F-14B+ (At the same BR).

What you want is the F-14B (Upgrade). Please, stop defending Gaijin’s very clearly failed implementation of the F-14D.

What’s the Blister?

F-14A VF-1 (2)

F-14A VF-1(3)

It looks obviously different to the TCS
