FnF Mavs really aren’t viable options in Toptier GRB tbh
The guidance logic is so poor that Mavs easily end up lose track or miss a fast moving target.
Even if it manages to hit, shot may be blocked randomly by MG,front main armour, Track, ERA etc.
hence little damage is delivered.
Plus, being subsonic makes it a easy target for interception.
I wonder if they are going to modify the AN/APG-83, currently half of its values just straight up look copy pasted from the APG-79. From what I am reading the theorised performance should be closer to the APG-77 or APG-81, just with less TRM modules.
I have seen this paper, but I don’t know how accurate it is. For their range detection calculations they used arbitrary values using an AESA radar calculator, yet their points about the cooling capacity of the F16 still stand, together with the possible number of TRMs at 1020 and predicted GaAs efficiency. I am more concerned about the values that were straight up copy-pasted from the APG-79.
I did the report on the 360 coverage and adding the K band in the same report so I figured if they added the K band it would have come at the same time
The one thing that US is lacking is no speed limit laser bomb and its not gonna get one, because it already has all the stand-in weapons and stand off weapons are all purely GPS ordinance or maybe terminal sensor that wouldnt do anything in warthunder unless the target is stationary
JSOW-C, Stormbreaker, Later variants of the AGM-130, AGM-84K SLAM-ER. All these weapons have IR seekers and standoff range. Not to mention LJDAM kits for the rest of the MK 80 series bombs or Laser SDB I. Better variants of the AGM-65 like the H or K would be welcome. JAGM can be mounted to fixed wing aircraft as well, and there are a ton of prototype weapons that could be added too.
JSOW-C seeker is for anti ship
Stormbreaker yeah i forgot
AGM-130 we already have in game and there isnt differennce between TV and IR unless you count people using engine smoke LOL
SLAM doesnt have specific IR seeker it would be just GPS for in game purposes
JAGM is laser or radar (and we’re not getting radar)
AGM-65H is already in game
People who dont understand how to actually use laser ordinance and flying in straight line? You know nothing jon snow
99% of the people who use laser guided weaponry, besides the brimstones and maybe Kh38ML, are easy kills.
They have to go below mach 1 to drop, the bombs are generally slow and really easy to shoot down and they become a free kill when they have to expose themselfs to guide their weaponry in.
