Current map design is not logical for those new aa, normally those medium range aa will not go that close to the front line. So why don’t having a designated zone that 2-3km behind main zone that specially for aa and free them from the threat of enemy ground attack.

why would that be a surprise to me? i would love red desert, fields of poland etc to be more common at top tier and to have even bigger maps (but only at like 10.3+)
but also the maps havent actually shrunk, theres just way more conquest versions of maps that didnt used to exist, and conquest maps are always cutdown versions of old maps, people blame bad, small maps, i blame conquest as a gamemode (it should be removed its so miserable)
Keep conquest but expand the god damn game mode, its been the same game mode since 2013 or 15, people can argue its different but its basically been the same mode just jumbled around a bit now and then. I mean we have had new things such as world war and events but they come for a small amount of time then bam gone?? like what is the point in them if its not even going to inspire them to improve?? Also sorry just sick of people sticking up for gaijin when every time I come back to see it somehow seems to have gotten worse such as the BMPT situation lately… I mean gaijin are the ones who know what is coming before us yet even though they know modern day vehicles etc are coming they still dum it down even more
I say remove conquest entirely because there are more problems with that gamemode than just small maps
like there are so many conquest maps where its easier to get to the enemy spawn than the cap point, conquest maps are the ones where most heli rushing happens and where op tanks like the BMPT have more influence
fair, i do tend to defend gaijin a bit but only for the actually reasonable stuff they do (like a lot of the complaints about them ignoring bug reports are coming from people who make literally useless bug reports like this and worse Community Bug Reporting System, providing no sources and only serving to slow down the bug reporting process for everyone with actual real bug reports)
Since the addition of random vehicles, now 16/20 matches end with a nuke.
At least they won’t need to worry about the enemy spawn camper
Keep conquest but put a br limit on it at 8.7 most of the time they’re quite fun in ww2 era vehicles, they only become problematic when reaching the point of a “slow” vehicle will get across the entire map in about a minute
Not quite true. There are maps where the accessible area has ben reduced in all variants.
While already a bummer in lower tiers, small maps really are very detrimental for gameplay in higher tiers. Recently played a map that was restricted to a corridor 700m wide. At high tier.
Terrible idea that would make things even worse unless GRB is changed from the ground up.

yeah theres that one conquest (or battle?) version of cargo port which is just sad 95% of the time
but they will need to deal with the enemy planes who know where all of them are and they wouldnt be hiding in the more unpredictable locations available on some maps
Alaska, Carpathians, Fire Arc, and I think also Hürtgenwald, Mozdok and Ardennes are smaller areas now - or at least I never had any variants with their old size in a looong time.
I think it was Netherlands, of which I think about 2 thirds were red zones, with only a 7000m wide straight corridor open.
as far as i know they removed the far left side like 4 years ago we lost like maybe 20m of playable width
i suppose, the top left corner and the bottom right wide around the mountains right?
the less of that map people have to play on the better, hopefully one day all of it is removed
they just put red zone over the top left super spawncampy area if i recall
ardennes hasnt changed to my knowledge just like 2 different domination variants ones a bit smaller but the big one still exists
on the big building side of the map? yeah can be rough but thats just conquests fault at that point
No, much more. Not sure about the right as I rarely spawned there, but on the left side it was possible to go to the top of the hill in the West. Now you can only get into the middle of the valley, so I’d say it’s about 200-300m cut off.
Exactly. Especially the removal of the part to the right with the hill in the East was removed. And the whole area where one could flank.
It was a very cool map, again before they cut off a really large part of it.
In general, changes very much affected long distance areas, good for long distance warfare. The cuts really affected gameplay especially for tank destroyers quite significantly, especially for vehicles equipped with ATGM’s.
So basically we have higher and higher BR’s with more advanced and long range weaponry, but maps tendentially got smaller useable areas than larger ones.

how long ago, like when it was kursk or…? and even then it got redesigned for a reason
i mean i suppose, but i feel theres a disconnect from what people claim is happening and what is actually happening (which is not maps being actually shrunk that much, but more smaller variants being added, so the big maps still exist but the average size is going down ig) most of the time when people complain about not being able to flank its on the terrible corridor conquest maps, not the still fine and still mostly the same size domination or battle maps
but also i hate how common conquest maps are, theyre like 1/3rd of games which yeah sure makes sense but i wish they were like 1/5th of games or less
Map design is held back by 1-death leavers and RP progress.
Modern tanks, won’t be fighting en masse in corridor maps like Breslau or Advance in the Rhine (although these maps can be extremely fun), but rather in maps like Red Desert.
The game needs large maps for modern tanks, BUT people will hate them because the games drag too long, you get less kills and therefore less RP.
I get caught in this myself, driving around for what feels meaningless to find a kill, when half the team has left after 1 death and just feeling its a waste of time because I wont make RP this match.
I cant wait to have all my lineups spaded so I can just enjoy the game without the worry of making RP.
Blessed Ardennes alone contributing 6 maps that are about 1200*1200, available from 3.7 and up to top tier.
