In this post I want to talk about airfield SPAA.
First of all I think airfield SPAA was meant to be good but it gets used by players that don’t want to fight, can’t fight, are out of fuel whatever. Its not a bad thing that you can go and rearm with protection so that nobody camps there and kills the ppl who can’t fight anymore and this is the only way you should use it.
But there is a scenario that happens way to often. Players use it to not die/give you the kill which annoys me a lot. This has nothing to do with good gameplay or “skill”, because you just let the game play for you. Its important to learn how to play the game correct, to have fun in it, etc. But all you do with Airfield camping is that you make the game play for you and that other ppl are pissed of because of that.
And now? If you have read the name of my topic its already pretty clear what I mean. I want a delayed activation for the Airfield SPAA to be able to destroy airfield campers but to not be able to camp to kill helpless planes. The timer starts when a player enters the range of the enemy SPAA.
In my opinion 1-2 min (for exemple) is enough but I YOU can write your opinion to this topic and if you agree you can also give your opinion for how long the delay is.

Befor I get some arguments for why the Airfield SPAA is good as it works at the moment. I tell you the arguments I know and why they are not good.
“But what if I’m out of ammo or fuel and someone attacks me then”
To be fair, this is a skill issue most plane have the option to bring as much fuel as needed to survive the whole match on Props and early jet planes without afterburner its not that big of an problem and on planes with afterburner you are not forced to use full afterburner all the time.
For the ammo… its easy stop spraying and learn how to aim/use it correct. There is no plane that I know that wasn’t able to get less than 5 kills with guns/missiles.
If you have problems with aiming I recommend to go and testdrive the vehicel and get used to the velocity. Yes I know this isn’t the same as in a real match scenario but at the end you atleast need some skill to actually play the game.
To be honest this is the only argument I know for now.

I know the communtiy is pretty splided about this topic so I try to make it the best for everyone.
In high tier jets, it is fine as is. I can zoom in and out with little issue.
For low tiers, i do see it as an issue. However, i feel like it should instead drain the enemy’s tickets due to inactivity.
I believe this already happens when the last player camps on the af. They could change it to drain when the last player stays within a certain range of the af.
After they leave this zone, the aa will go on cooldown. This will prevent them from dipping out of the zone then going right back in.

The low tier SPAA is too good and I see 3 players camping it always. Bombers are even better at doing this (jet bombers)
M.B.157 : go make 6kills with only 120x20mm rounds and then you can talk about it not being a problem,…
this is easily addressed,… most airfields are easy to go in and out with the good method,…
you just have to go in custom and learn it
i made it yesterday with Aircrafts from ranks 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7.
the real problem is that airfields are all too close from combat zone letting people escape noobs easily
I voted No because I feel 1-2min would still not give you enough time even to get in and out and you would still easily die to the AAA.
For example, here I’m staring at an A-36 right above their airfield, and he’s obviously not going to land. If I decided to chase him, it would take me far longer than 2min to catch up, given that he can move anywhere in the AAA bubble.
Instead, I propose the following: AAA will not open up on you if you’re within .8km of an enemy plane, and if you get out of that range you get 2min to get out of AAA range (which should be enough).

And no you can’t survive the low tier SPAA its way too strong with those proxy rounds
Can’t speak for the MB157 but I’ve gotten similar results in the 109 E-4, which only adds a pair of small caliber MGs in comparison.
The 1-2 min was just for example
Even then, making that time longer I think will make it too easy to camp the AF when someone goes to land.
And yeah I almost spaded the M. B. 157 and it was never a proplem
350km/h is pretty low speed - 97.2m/s
60seconds of dealy = 5.8km
and a crew is not gonna take 2 min to react.
at best for attackers(worst from PoV) reaction time of SPAAG should be 40 seconds
- human reaction is about 2 seconds, and let’s say 35 seconds to aim the gun around from 180° + elevation
- then gives maybe a 15%-20% hit rate for like 10 seconds (adjustements issues)
So what do you want for a time?

with higher rank and higher speed - consider technology of new guns to reduce time delay but have similar range of delay.
means that:
Rank 1 average low speed : 350km/h (97.2 m/s) - 50 seconds
Rank 2 : 360km/h (100m/s) 48.6 seconds
Rank 3 : 380 km/h (105.5m/s) 46.1 seconds
Rank 4 : 390 km/h (108.3m/s) 44.9 seconds
Rank 5: 450 km/h (jets) (125m/s) 38.9 seconds
Rank 6 : 550 km/h (152.8 m/s) 31.8 seconds
Rank 7: 650 km/h (180.5 m/s) 26.9 seconds
Rank 8: 700km/h (194.5m/s) 25 seconds
means you can travel 4.86km before Airfield AA got high precision rate
No, stop enabling airfield camping in one direction.
Airfield campers in both directions are people that can’t fight; both are stat padders.

The perfect thing IMO is a x minute timer [I’m leaning on 5 minutes] exists against the team that generates no score.
This prevents long-matches from airfield campers in one direction, and prevents long matches from space bombers.
With stronger airfield SPAA to prevent the other type of airfield camper so people can rearm and repair to have a chance of fighting enemies again without major disadvantage.
btw, add a rules for people with no more weaponnary (no missiles + less than 5% guns ammo) so the timer got reduced by 33% - seems fair as pilot can radio call his base
