how do i get notification when my team will have match?
I can’t train as console player, when I create a lobby, I can’t join…
It’s due to “The Fatherland” being in reference to Germany, while the Motherland->Russia.
So when you call it “Defense Of The Fatherland” without any context it is immediately assumed that it was related to Germany.
So whoever made the blog should have provided context but failed at this confusing so many.

Fatherland is a common name for “homeland/country of origin/the country our fathers came from” for many countries.
Examples I know:
Ojczyzna - Polish
Vaterland - German
Oтечество - Russia
Otčina - Czech
Sorry, I do not have enough skills in EN language to explain etymology of this specific word. If you are interested in it, check it in google, this type of curiosities are very interesting :)

While that is true, German vaterland is the most well known version so when people see fatherland they think of Germany. Probably a good idea to give a quick description of the holiday so people don’t get confused (Which I am also guilty of).
And about my concerns?
Edit : I can’t join the lobby! I did not received any invitation and can do nothing…
Sorry, from what I get, training is not working right now, there is a bug. Devs are aware and trying to fix this feature.

has it started? the bracket is a mess and i cant understand how to interpret it. i never got an invite to anything… my client and game restarted at 13:52 CET (12:52 UTC) and i tried to find how i was supposed to join the tournaments battle and ended up clicking search game which it immediately found one and put me in, but that was a regular game so i jumped out, now i see nothing and have no clue on what to do.

also, the timer on the website under “my tournaments” is bugging out. 15 minutes before tournament start it said one hour and 10 minutes. then i clicked update website and it said 5 minutes. then when the clock was 13:49 it said 3 minutes so i updated website again and then it said “live”.

at this point i assume that something failed somewhere.
Now i want to know what went wrong so that i can join the air jet later today correctly.
i have joined via tss website, i have created team, i have clicked confirm, game was on when tournament started (or at least it should have been, looking at logs it might have done something weird at 12:49-12:51 but i didn’t close the game and only restarted it at 12:52). i never got an invite.
how is it supposed to work? do i automatically get like a notification in game or a message to join a link or do i need to search for the lobby myself and find my opponent manually?
(there is WAY to little info on how this works btw)

Same here, it worked this time but F-16 was behind me after 10sec and I just can broke my wing trying to turn…
I never broke a wing on F1C-200 from what I remember. I was really surprised I can’t shoot at the start and we are so close so there is no point to take missiles.
Training match will be a must have to not be so disapointed at first. I’m still not understand how it work (activation area? What is that)

It’s a russian holiday called День защитника Отечества. The most accurate translation is
Defender of the Fatherland Day

I don’t know how to dogfight it, it’s technically impossible no? It look thx to the weapon lock it’s 90% about thrust/weight and turnrate.
On Air RB, I usually have no trouble to dogfight and canon’ kill Uptier plane (12.3) so I’m really disapointed.
Well I know that now. But people think of Germany when they hear fatherland. And with no quick description of the holiday it looks like they are giving Russian stuff for a German event to most people.

You didn’t change the point I was making as Vater is just German for Father. It is the way we hear it that leads to us pronouncing it as we hear it, or see what it is, or sometimes the name is entirely changed for the sake of making it more appealing and getting more people to try it and spread the word.
So when you state Defense Of The Fatherland we hear defense of the Germans and this is due to history as well as eyewitness accounts from the records, that have been documented over the decades.
Hence why people were confused. Vater/Father are one of the same the spelling is only different. Its pronunciation on the other one is relatively the same except for the TH which is ð or unvoiced θ. These are 2 ancient Greek letters that we adopted.
So for future context make it clear for events that we know which one you are referring to. By providing some historical context on why it’s called such. As most of us know Russia is the Motherland which is also due to historical and well documented facts.
