R60m is not good.
Aim7f is pretty good. The aim9h is one of the best rear aspects.

i have both the mig 23ml and f4s and without a doubt mig23ml is WAY better
i have gotten kill after kill with r60m with ir slaving i have no idea what you are on about, and i have stopped using aim 9h because they are so flare prone
The MiG-23 radar is GARBAGE compared to the F-4S radar. The MiG-23 requires you to both be 1. under ~1800m altitude and 2. FACING THE GROUND (you cannot do look UP attacks ironically enough) or your MTI (budget PD, not as good) will turn off and switch back to pulse analog. Your only saving grace if that happens is that the R-24R is a continuous wave missile meaning it will ignore chaff a lot of the time.

you can have that opinion but I think you’re being incredibly silly with this take
i find that to be very very opposite, there has been so many times where i just launch a missile not expecting it to hit and then boom, or whenever i launch it at a target in the sky it is always a kill, there has been time after time where i shoot a missile at someone regardless of mode and they come within 500m of the ground and my aim7fs just fuck off
Nothing I’m saying here can really be contradicted. I’m simply describing how the radar works. Meanwhile the F-4S’s only hangup is that it is a PDV HDN radar meaning it does poorly in rear aspect and has larger notch angles than later PD radars. It’s still far better than the 23’s radar… like strictly objectively speaking. I think you just had a bad experience(s) in the F-4S and want to blame it for something it didn’t do.
I dont have the f4s but i use the tech tree version. It works pretty well for most cases. You just cant be aggressive in up tiers.

I mean i must be getting extremely unlucky cause in my experience missiles hit way more often with the mig 23ml

Mig23 is good for the r24rs.
you just check if you’re in a 13.0 lobby and adjust at the start of the game
Tornado F.3/ADV IMO, it’s close but I think the RWR and AIM-9Ls push it over the edge
Keeps watch for smoke trails.
I only agree if you squad and have wingmen. Tornado is far too vulnerable solo. F-4S is more independent.
