Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

yes

Speed of sound changes with altitude. Below you’ll find a table with different altitudes (in flight level, for exemple FL 050 is 5000ft) and the standard speed of sound in m/s

As you see the speed of sound get’s significantly slower meaning that you can reach a higher mach number for the same air speed

wouldnt be the first time and wont be the last

if we just got the Rafale A we wouldnt have to fight for an airbrake shake my smh

Apparently that Rafale advanced, but this Rafale less advanced break wise than a corsair

there totally wasnt a reason to get rid of the airbrake off of the rear of the aircraft

its probably like integrating them into the elevons was more convenient, but i mean clearly no airbrake

It’s simple: the wings’ exterior flaps go up while the interior flaps go down. And The part in front of the wing goes down

Also, the canards move slightly upward.

Therefore, the Rafale has the ability to reduce speed efficiently in various flight conditions.

Oh right my bad, i forgot about ias and tas

Ah I see, I only knew of the canards :D

but but but tooo complicated !!!

If anyone can chuck a bug report in on it, and we ping a tech mod, we might be able to get it unfucked. I would put a report in but still can’t get into the bug report account thing.

there was a report but it got hit with “you need an oem manual or blah blah blah blah”

Yeah, I mean if we put together a more in depth report with a better explanation (other one was kinda not great) and more examples. Pinging a tech mod to try get it through would also aid it. If I don’t try and find a solution, I’m going to be incredibly grumpy and that will likely get my account put on hold again for the Nth time.

So let me get this straight:

Top speed is lower than EFT

Acceleration is slower than EFT

Carries less missiles than EFT

Canards and flaps doesnt work as an Airbrake so we have to slow down by manuvering

Flares are still limited and Magic-2’s still missing.

I guess

Guess what same br as EF

atleast we get AESA?

Despite this however, the Rafale has just 2 missiles for short range engagements — already well-known to French pilots, the Matra R550 Magic 2. Another unique aspect is in the Rafale’s countermeasure loadout — it only has 32 large caliber countermeasures, but additionally a large amount of chaff! Because of this, plus only having ARH missiles, the Rafale is best used to fire missiles at long ranges, avoid getting into short range engagements if possible.

besides the normal nonsense from devblogs

ONCE AGAIN NO MENTION OR F3R or AESA

im gonna laugh if im gonna be proven right

Magic 2 are not missing, they are mentioned in the devblog of the rafale

Hi @Smin1080p_WT.
I was wondering if we could see a 72 flare loadout for the Rafale.
Currently the model uses the 32 large flares (which is a valid loadout), which is quite limiting even with the individual pop.
Is there any possibility that it could be replaced with the 72 normal flares model, which has been reported/suggested - or even better - that both option are made available through a new modification ?

To tell the truth, I don’t see why everyone is complaining about the speed and the quantity of missiles, French planes have always been below other nations in terms of quantity of missiles, the same for speed/acceleration, if the radar is modeled correctly the plane will be largely competent.

The only downside that I see for the moment and which could really impact the performances of the plane is the lack of airbrake
