Doesn’t respond to the balance question? How was the AIM54 balanced? With absolutely no counter and destroying entire lobbies?
Then lose the 2 additonal missiles
The Rafale with a BVR missile equal to an F-15E/Typhoon while also having great performance and the best Radar and the short to medium range ARHM.
Wow, it’s almost like that’s what we’ve been saying, shock horror.
It was argued that MICA ought to be fixed instead of 2 extras, and instead they went with 2 extras.
I see Rafale and Mica bug report i press “i have the same issue” button.
My brother, how about instead of nerfing Rafale we try to fix both EFT and Rafale at the same time?
Both planes still underperforms in many area (in case EFT might be worse) so instead of fighting each other we should unite and focus on how to make our beloved Delta Canards better
Yet you guys put the report in to have them added.
Im genuinely perplexed by the Rafale community.
Lets not get toxic, enough of that around.
The MICA with correct stats would be too good at everything and Gaijin have for whatever reason likely to not upset the Su and F-15 guys have held back both the Rafale and the Typhoon.
I am all for that!
We cannot control that a minority decided to put in reports that are technically accurate. The French rafale is technically able to take this.
Mostly from Pommie EFT folk wandering in as though they’re still salty from losing the 100 year war.
MICA with correct stats may be, MICA with half competent range instead of this hard limited rubbish that can barely reach 10km would not be excessive at everything. They’ve already demonstrated with the addition of the 77-1 that they’re comfortable with missiles performing good enough in both facets, and little you will face pulls hard enough to warrant the MICAs agility when compared to a 77-1.
In the face of 77-1 arriving and being more or less on parity with the AMRAAM, and with adequate agility in the short range to functionally perform the same role as MICA (if you are in the areas where MICA’s agility is actually necessary, it is 50/50 on whether or not in spins out) it is completely justifiable to give MICA at least some range.
They’ve been added because either way they won’t be fixed
I will see this Gaijin did put the missile on the slower more ponderpous Su-30 and not on the faster more capable Su-27SM.
I do agree however Gaijin must have felt it was too much to give the MICA EM its actual range
Which means you end up equivalent (or marginally behind) to most AMRAAM launches, and not exceeding it, as the Su 27SM would have facilitated. Whilst having enough agility in the missile to achieve similar kill likelihood to MICA, outside of the 2km range, at which point MICA is 50/50 on whether it chooses to work or spin out.
The 77-1 justifies something resembling accurate range on MICA compared to its current state. Even if it is not 100% of the range, something more than this farce is warranted.
Wow, they finally figured out what everyone was fighting about before storm warning.
Anyways I still subscribe to this opinion, take my 8 FAKECAs and give me 6 REALCAs
If you think they will buff the mica when balance is no longer the issue, you’re wrong. As we have seen from the AIM-54, R-27ER, etc… they have simply let them be and kept their place. We will not likely see any fixes for MICA aside from potentially removing the handicap 50km explosion timer.
R-27ER has been buffed over the years though, it is one of the missiles alongside Magic 2 that has seen several upgrades, as for AIM-54 I have a sneaking suspicion that airframe performance is the determination of whether or not a missile gets buffed to keep it in line with the airframe’s performance.
Those are just two examples, there are numerous others. Look at the AIM-7F which has been over performing for some time and it was left alone to compete with a (still) nerfed R-27ER.
All IR missiles underperform as well.
To be fair, that instead ended up being all missiles overperforming in terms of drag while maneuvering and so a global nerf occurred. And as for the nerfed R-27ER, once their performance was reported had been fixed quickly relatively in terms of being buffed from 25G to 35G, guidance delay lowered, and increased kinetic range all within weeks of the report date.
Likewise, premier ordnance on inferior airframes will likely not see further buffs. What is your point?
The point I was making in the end is that neither the Rafale or M2K are inferior airframes relative to other platforms so it is likely we’ll see buffs to the MICA missile unlike AIM-54 on the tomcat.
satire?
