I’m aware of that much. I was hoping to quickly figure out if that squadron tested the additional pylons and on which airframe (and if that airframe belongs to industry or not). No idea of that information even exists tho

If there’s one thing that was not a cause of this it was preferential treatment. What happened was the 6-10 people spamming the same reports eventually likely got to a less knowledgeable bug reporter who passed it on. The zone was too gray to outright deny capability (even though if they searched a little bit they could easily deny it). So they were forced to give in and give an ahistorical buff.
It does open up a whole new unnecessary can of worms though, using non-combat capable prototypes as modeling references now means we will likely see a whole bunch of weird bug reports.

“french mains” doesn’t even mean anything since it seems like half the thread is angry at the second half because of this “8x MICA” report, which would render any MICA fix too unbalanced and could possibly postpone it (although Smin would probably tell you the opposite).
Meanwhile, said second half is being angry at the first half because they don’t think hard core realism should be followed and don’t want to lose their precious 8x mica loadout

CM change is a complete nerf. 16 single-pop large CM for 36 single-pop small CM?? good luck with dodging any IRCCM missile with single-pop small flares, cuz it won’t cover the heat source at all. The same applies to planes like F-14A/B, where it struggles against IR missiles due to lack of large flares nor abundant normal flares like F-15.
edit: In game 1 large flare has the luminosity of like 4 regular flares poping simutaneously. Tested with friends and turns out that Rafale’s single-pop normal flares cannot decoy even the AIM-9L. This plane is literally down to 16 large flares to defend itself against various IR missiles, which is even worse than before.
edit2: single-pop regular chaff is also almost useless. It’s RCS is nowhere near the large chaff. Changing the 36 regular CM to double-pop (18 pops in total) will help a bit, but I’d prefer large CMs.

This thread is becoming a salt mine… We got it, there is the team “Armée de l’air et de l’espace” F3R and there is the team Dassault F3R. Anyway, the 8 MICA’s are here now so can we move on or you guys still gonna fight for 300 messages without any chance of agreeing at the end ?

Italy as well tested Brimsones on ISPA4 via Leonardo
and for some other Italian aircraft Brimstones are integrated: M-346FA, AW-149 and Falco drone.

Careful, if you say this then someone will get upset with you. Told them this before the change, but no. They doubled down. Keep in mind, I support this countermeasure schema. But with the option to select the other (also plausible) large caliber set up. If we can’t choose, then we’re better off with 32 large caliber.

It would help if they had familiarity with the defeat mechanics for missile threats, it’d show why 32 large caliber is a lot better. But they decided that “more is better” instead, so they pushed it.

People asking for large flares to be changed to regular ones for “more pops” either doesnt play toptier jet at all or plays but doesn’t understand the mechanisms of flares versus IR missiles at all.

I actually suspect they would notice how useless single-pop normal flares at all lol.
Maybe gaijin should change to 72 single-pop normal flares, then they would find out.
Still, I fully support implementing the option to take either large or normal CM modules. Players should be given options to do that. I would also take far more chaff in ground RB.

Im pretty sure the change is a direct buff vs tracking suspension IRCCM (9M/AAM-3) and mostly a direct nerf vs FoV narrowing (basicly every other IRCCM missile on jets ingame atm) due to the differing defeat mechanisms for each.
Its not a straight buff or nerf, it depends on what you’re facing. Id argue it does still remain predominantly a buff though, as the primary threats in-game are firing 9M’s for their IR missiles, though the option to vary the CM load should be provided instead of dictating only 1 CM load.
