Did you take into account the fuel load and maybe 2 IR missiles by using the thrust to weight ratio listed?
Ours are for full internal fuel with missiles and its higher than those numbers by a good margin.
Could it be without AB and some fuel percentage load?
Couldn’t really say, would be an odd test of sustained performance without any AB though. The chart lacks any additional information to draw anything useful from other than I know it performs much better than that. And if that is 60% fuel with missiles then damn they were holding back alot haha.
Is there an acces to the full document?
Victory by superior documentation…
'tis the British way
Our documents will block out the sun.
Just found this about the AC conditions in the MMRCA
dosnt go into specifics though
Spoiler
Fwiw, they have no insight into the MMRCA. There is one good book though from a thinktank that discussed with those involved in the MMRCA, but the statements they gathered is not useful in any way and spoke in generalities.
No, not every pylon can carry missiles, AHDERU’s have never been described as missile capable.
And here’s the British evaluation for comparison (we were very seriously considering alternatives when it looked like Germany was about to pull the plug on Eurofighter).
Eurofighter and Rafale are undoubtedly both very capable aircraft. No doubt there will be things that Rafale does better, and things that Eurofighter does better. And to some extent how well they perform against a given country’s requirements (and indeed in game) will depend on what factors are more important in that context.
You would think so, but you’ve clearly never met the British MOD. To name a few examples:
- We spent a massive amount of money on our own Hydrogen bomb, then scrapped it and brought American warheads
- We spent billions (in today’s money) on our own ICBM, then scrapped it and brought American missiles
- We spent billions (in today’s money) on TSR.2 only to scrap it and order the F-111
- We spent £4.1 billion on Nimrod MRA.4 only to scrap it and buy the P-8
So scrapping Eurofighter and buying something foreign would be pretty standard based on previous UK aerospace programmes (sadly).
There’s some interesting parts
“Th e Typhoon’s sensors and avionics showcase how Western aircraft—
to include the other European and American competitors in the MMRCA
program—gain dramatic advantages over their Russian and Chinese counterparts
because they incorporate better sensors and more eff ectively fuse the information
derived from them to ease the pilot’s workload amidst the rigors of combat. Th is
capability derives ultimately from the West’s superiority in electronics, software,
and systems integration. Th e three “Eurocanards” in the MMRCA competition
remain good examples of how fourth-generation European combat aircraft now
rank close to, if not on par with, their American peers.”
“Where sustained turn rate, for example, is concerned, the Typhoon is superior
to the MiG-35 and the Rafale, but yet cannot match the Gripen, which beats it
and all other aircraft irrespective of altitude. Th e Typhoon also turns somewhat
slower than the F-16IN (without conformal tanks) and the F/A-18E/F at most
representative altitudes. Th e Typhoon’s instantaneous turn performance is
far better than the MiG-35 and the Gripen and comparable to the F-16IN
(without conformal tanks) and F/A-18E/F at all altitudes, but inferior to the
Rafale the closer both aircraft are to sea level. Th e Typhoon’s bleed rates are
high, comparable to the Rafale and the F/A-18E/F at all altitudes, but inferior
to the Gripen and the F-16IN (even when the latter fl ies with its conformal
fuel tanks).”
So i bothered to look at the forum (it wasnt even in the old one) and u are the same guy that is arguing that it can not and u have proved nothing while at the same time others proved with logic that it can now of u go.
Have you ever seen missiles mounted there…
Concerning your last part, that’s more about USA submission than anything else, which is a tragedy for every west european country and the perfect example is the F35 bought by every west european country
As for this I don’t see how in the futur the SCAF program will be able to be developed
France has sh*t politics, but for the military sector they always tried to develop mostly national programs instead of buying US (airplane, submarine, aircraft carrier, boat, tanks, nuclear warhead, etc.), i guess this is also a reason why they left the Eurofighter program amongst others
In a book by Dassault, France was set to initially order 250 Eurofighters and 85 naval variant of Eurofighters for a total of 335 aircrafts. UK and Germany were each to order 250 aircrafts, Italy and Spain even less. Considering that France would have invested more relatively, there was some thought that they should have had more leeway with what they wanted. Then it didn’t help that naval variants were cut out, forcing France to leave the project.
France wanted to completely replace the Mirage 2000-5, Mirage 2000D, Jaguar A, Super Etendard, and Mirage F1s. The Eurofighter planes were supposed to be that one in all solution.
France having Eurofighter and then developing another completely different airframe for naval purposes made little sense.
I think that the UK should have also angled for naval variants, but perhaps they were going with the eventual F-35 project? Not sure.
@WreckingAres283 hello. Please could you make a topic about the air condensation that forms in the fuselage? I would like this to be added in War Thunder. I know that many people would agree to adding this visual effect of air condensation that forms when the aerovane makes very sharp turns. I don’t know if I understood
As long as there is no suggestion for it already, I can take a look at the topic and include it in my plans, but it may take a while until I get to it.
perfect. I will wait for this with joy :)
