Never had this issue on my Rafale before, radar works quite good when im using.

I have had this issue multiple times.

It is not an AESA radar

If you hoping for IRST to stop tracking flares a bug report / suggestion might help. IRST in general used to ignore flares but eventually this was changed to be extremely susceptive across the board. I don’t quite recall the reason.

But that was somewhat recent, probably better off either suggesting a toggle for auto switching IR/Radar or trying to get IR datalink added so we can fire EMs with IRST. The first might not go far depending, given the MTI mig23.

That said I haven’t experienced it auto switching since the second patch. (Still would love IRST datalink)

it is

If there are historical issues, lack of features or the radar is underperforming, it can be reported.

Huh, interesting.

Its an AESA radar.

Excuse me I meant it is not performing like an AESA radar.

The fact that it still scans left and right, is still able to be moved left and right and up and down proves my point.

Along with the valid points others have made most notably the fact that once it establishes track of a target it is unable to keep it even while flying straight towards the target.

Tracks should be kept until you turn the radar away (nose of the aircraft) from said track afaik.

Also not being able to hms lock unless target aircraft is hot on you.

These are huge things that prove the radar is lacking compared to what we are supposed to really have.

It being named AESA and performing like one is two very different things :)

French service Rafale F3R addition became “meaningless” with Mirage 2000-5F existing in Mk.2 standard already

It does this as of the last two patches, but its obviously unfinished. It updates whoever you have selected as if youre in TRK mode and doesnt jump around like the others. But, ive noticed it still requires you to scan them twice to establish this soft lock, which can be annoying. And in sensor view it doesn’t show the continous track beam, and assumebly doesn’t light up rwr as well.

Exactly adding on to my points though, it is by no means a proper aesa radar.

Yes it is better, but it is nowhere near “good enough” for an aesa standard.

But Yes I am grateful for how it performs at the moment!

But I hope gajin not rename to Rafale C F4 (F4.1) instead Rafale C F3-R in the first major update 2025

It is already C F3-R!

Just have to look at statcard 😉

Discovered this 2 AA hardpoints addition just before spawning in a game, when I realized that most of my custom loadouts disappeared and then saw the default 8 Micas loadout.
I felt like a kid during christmas for a short moment :)

Dont forget the extra countermeasures!

It tries to get an IR lock when I’m trying to lock with HMD for some damn reason and because of that, it just locks to flsres instesd of the enemy jet headoning me at 3km

The 30 flares and 110-120 chaffs already available was really enough for me but sure it’s cool also.

Yeah not good enough yet.

still waiting for the SEM’s Anemone to perform like a PESA but yeah that sucks
