That radar is still comical… how is it still slower than mechanical radar and pesa is beyond me.
But atleast it keeps tracks rather reliably.
I tried it on test drive: went to 50k feet, got a 70km separation from the MiG-15 group and put the antena more or less neg 45°. I watched the MiG-15s do various full circles while in TWS and never lost the track. I’m pretty happy Abt that. I just wonder how will the mica handle compared to the rafale radar, cuz I’m assuming the mothership radar is way better than the missile in situations where the enemy is in notch angle. I don’t think u can’t override the missiles onboard radar by keeping the lock too

You think it would be possible to do a report to add a speed limiter at 750kt instead of the wing breaking mechanic ? because right now it is impossible to cruise at max speed with afterburner (even on the lowest possible) without breaking the wings, otherwise you have to constantly touch the power which is incredibly annoying
Or at least make it possible to cruise at max speed at like 103% AB (Like the mirage)

alternatively to the answers given above, you can also assign a keybind to “head movement : left-right”
If you can find a source to prove that the Rafale has such a feature they yes but we cant have nice things on the Rafale without a lot of evidence. I already had to fight with gaijin just to get us a airbrake.
My issue with radar is HMD consistency and the amount of time needed for radar to update and start picking targets after being turned off.

Is it me or is the Rafale radar shit super shity, I cant lock people with TWS and HMS only works 30% of the time!
Tried to take it up high multiple times, cant do anything, radar is nice, mica on the other hand is not, you simply cant bvr in that thing. Rmax2 for amraam is like 3 times bigger than mica in same conditions.
Personally, I’ve more issues with the scan rate being slow as pitch compared to Su 34’s PESA. HMD seems okay in test flight (okay as in no worse than every other HMD’s bullshit). But I’ve yet to get it to try in an actual match so my take may be skewiff on the HMD front. The scan rate is definitely slower than 34 though, I will stand by that one.
I only mentioned what stands out from “workable” state of the radar but yes scan rate must be increased for both vertical and horizontal sweep.

Is there ANY way, how to permanently turn off IRST?
Mine doesnt automatically change to IRST.
okay so, HMD not locking is VERY annoying… This is my 3rd battle with it and I already got f’d up bad because of that. Hope it gets fixed tomorrow
