We really should have seen the beginning of trying to simulate ECM with platforms like this tbch, given it is a very integral part of these systems.
Low speed turn are the worst way to defend against Aim120. If you’re below 800kmh in top tier, you’re an easy target. If the Aim120 don’t murder you, the Aim9M will.
It’s way way more important to keep up speed while notching. It’s why the Soviets are struggling so much at the moment (at least until they fixed the Su-27). If you lose all your speed dodging one missile, you are a sitting duck for the rest of them. Keep speed up, notch Aim120 while closing the gap and use HMD to send an off-bore MICA while defending. It’s by far the most effective use of the Mirage, and Rafale simply does it better.
Any folk found a way to get the targeting camera view thing to consistently point to the thing I’m locking up from tws? Also, it’d be nice if it’d point to the thing currently selected from the TWS mode but not locked.
Also, is the voice rubbish correct being English?
your reply makes sense but it’s also problably about my playstyle, cuz I had way more success baiting people into a low speed turn fight, I can just fire off bore micas at my opponent, and anyone attempting to join or passing by
Both approaches work. Some people just think their approach is the right one and anything else is heretical.
I have to ask though, how do you bait them into a dogfight? and how do you do it far enough from the usual furball?
from my experience, people launch a fox3 at you and move on, most times not waiting for kill confirmation.
this is a real question (but a bit offtopic, sorry about that)
also im talking air RB here, maybe you arent
There’s some changes to the radar and RWR in the latest datamine (see here https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/comments/1hg9z68/242026_243010_part_2_20241216/), I’m not sure what any of this means however.
i’m pretty sure the RWR is now covering the plane 180° at least now.
- Thales SPECTRA (the LWS) (Rafale C):
- renamed to Thales SPECTRA DAL
- vertical limits: -45° / 45° → -90° / 90°
- Thales SPECTRA (the RWR) (Rafale C): renamed to Thales SPECTRA DAR
- Thales RBE2 AESA (Rafale C):
- renamed to Thales RBE2 AESA by Gaijin as well
- LPRF, MPRF, HPRFv, GTM transceivers: antenna angle of half sensitivity: 4° → 2.5°
- illumination transmitter: antenna:
- angle of half sensitivity: 4° → 2.5°
- sidelobe sensitivity: -32 → -35
- added HMD lock signal
- narrow search, narrow TWS patterns:
- period: 0.6 → 1.697963 sec
- width: 10 → 15
- bar height: 2.85 → 2.25
- bar count: 2 → 7
- medium search, medium TWS patterns:
- period: 3.7 → 3.9619138 sec
- width: 30 → 35
- bar height: 2.85 → 2.25
- bar count: 4 → 7
- wide search, wide TWS pattern:
- period: 4.3 → 7.9238276 sec
- width: 70 → 35
- bar height: 2.85 → 2.25
- bar count: 2 → 14
- BVR lock search pattern:
- period: 0.7 → 0.5 sec
- width: 5.7 → 2.5
- bar height: 3 → 2.25
- BVR lock TWS pattern:
- period: 0.35 → 0.5 sec
- width: 5.7 → 2
- bar height: 3 → 2
- narrow IRST search, wide IRST search patterns: width: 15 → 20
I died to HMD shitting itself so many times now its not even funny. I cant even lock on someone heading towards me because radar refuses to function
how do you guys read this without it being blocked by the MASSIVE RWR monitor in the middile ?
2.42.0.26 → 2.43.0.10 Part 2 (2024-12-16)
We are on 2.43.0.14 already, you should check that instead
You can change the display of the screens, either via the menu that you display with the Y key on the keyboard or by designating a particular key
thanks
superresolution?
@WaretaGarasu Is there any chance that the position of the stock Mica will be changed ? Because it is slightly unfair compared to other planes.
Hey Math!
What exactly do you mean by this? Are we looking for better performance?
I am trying to change the position of the Mica present as standard on the plane, currently they are on points 2 and 10 which prevents the loading of both Mica and air-to-ground weapons before having unlocked the research of Mica. Except that this modification is at rank 4 which means that you have to unlock 7 modules minimum before unlocking them.
It is particularly painful when you see that the F-16 for example has its basic missiles placed in places where they do not block the air-to-ground loads, the same for the F-15 etc …
If the Mica were on points 4 and 8 it would solve the whole problem, but the bug report I made was refused and I was told to make a suggestion, which is therefore made and pending
Except RWR coverage is change in .15 so will only be implemented in next hotfix tomorrow or later.
Also this new coverage will mean SPECTRA actually has no blind spot.
Hey all, radar works even better now but any news on proper AESA implementation?
What else is going to be changed in .15? Any changes to the AESA radar or do we currently have the finished “AESA” radar?
