ok crazy question, is this in reference to the F4U or A-7 o-o
Planes are now configured according to advertising booklets
F4U aircraft. It feels like a really weird example, but it behaves very similarly, outside of the leading edge slat.
ok just making sure, i do see what you mean.
good to hear, thanks
It’s a very basic demonstration of the premise, but if Rafale can’t have an airbrake that works then how tf does f4u work. It is bothersome.
The Egyptians use the Mica on their Rafale and do not have any AIM120 in service. Same for the Indian’s Rafale
same premise for the Helldiver except that the airbrake is an actual seperate control that overrides flaps or vise versa
There’s a lot of examples of how interior control surfaces can be used as an airbrake whilst other surfaces pick up the slack, so I really don’t know how they can justify their response. Corsair’s just the most readily available and cleanest demonstration.
but but but its fwench
Yeah and our French corsair works too.
rofl, good point
Do you have access to the bug report stuff to chuck one up pointing to these as an example to help convince them? Currently can’t login to it. Haven’t been able to for a long while tbch. Might be our best hope of getting them to understand. I am going to nap now, I am on the verge of collapse.
yeah i think it’s an error because rafale is sell with is package of armament so i don’t know
ill throw one up ina bit current keyboard is super messed up and cant write that well, new keyboard should arrive in an hour or two. if there is not one up by then i will gladly write one.
It’s Wikipedia anyway, probably the worst possible source
The mica is the better missile tho
does anybody know the magnification of the damocles
The source is not official and the only thing that would “prove” this ability would be the schematic below, more information would be needed for it to be valid
In addition, it is specified “bombs”, so we do not know what type or quantity of bombs would be able to be carried.
Finally, this diagram shows the capacity to carry a Mica at the front central point, a capacity removed for production Rafales to my knowledge, this diagram is therefore probably false.
