The source is not official and the only thing that would “prove” this ability would be the schematic below, more information would be needed for it to be valid
In addition, it is specified “bombs”, so we do not know what type or quantity of bombs would be able to be carried.
Finally, this diagram shows the capacity to carry a Mica at the front central point, a capacity removed for production Rafales to my knowledge, this diagram is therefore probably false.
i know someone mentioned it earlier but just to confirm, the IR guided and GNSS guided HAMMER’s do not require you to take the DAMOCLES. what is great if you wanna save a bit of weight
honestly long range missile engagement are useless rn. 20km and bellow is where it’s at, beyond that you’re lucky if you get 1 kill out of 4 missile launch. the mica excels at high aoa launches during missile jousts, it’s so easy to launch one mid notch, the aim 120 can’t compete in that aspect. I find these type of engagements much more effective.
Also the fm is insane compared to the M2K5F, i don’t get why people aren’t hyped over this plane, the falres are the only issue i can see with it, but i think that will get fixed. looking good since they’ve already fixed the dual flare pop
we are talking about tgp limitation. if you fire a gps munition at 30 km, the POI of that munition will be in the air, bcs tgp cannot stab onto ground more then 20km above the limit.
the super mirage 4000 was a big inspiration for the Rafale A (demonstrator) and known by all as the precursor of it, it’s not fair to put it behind the 5F
@Gunjob How come Rafale cannot get the two additional MICA but Su-27SM can receive a twin pylon that does not even fit the aircraft irl? The space between the nacelles was made larger on the Su-35 and allowed them to fit the additional ordnance. The Su-27SM is totally incapable of actually mounting this ‘upgrade’.
