Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

This new rwr/map overlay is supposed to show bandits/ground systems that the sensor fusion picks up correct? IRL it also shows bandits that the radar has picked up on tws as well, showing their LNP in the flight computer.

This will make notching very easy in sim if it can show incoming rwr launches and show the missile in real time it as approaches the aircraft as spectra’s sensors track incoming threats.
telling the pilot if the threat is radar or infrared guided.

“eventually allowing us to engage targets simply by locking hostile pings from the data computer as spectra allows IRL.”

Similar to these depictions.

Probably because the missile is still work in progress
If it actually performs like it should irl, it is a big upgrade over the current AIM-120s we have in the game.
Then again Gaijin might artificially nerf the range to keep some semblance of “balance,” you never know how exactly they operate.

I’ve not followed the C5 introduction that much. Isn’t its current range (compared to the A/B) better in game ? Iirc, the C-5 should be around 120-130km max range (currently lock range is 120), while I believe A/B should be around 100km.
How far are they underperforming in range ? Is it like the MICA who is missing a significant portion of its range (along the line of 40% from memory) ?
Otherwise, the C5 has smaller fins and higher acceleration, so a worse turning radius than the A/B accordingly, but is turning directly off the rail. That’s most of the differences between the A/B and C5 I believe. How is it in game ?

The Data mine from yesterday shows they are increasing the guidance delay from 0.3 seconds to 0.6 seconds. Which is the same as Aim-120A/B

iirc, it should have virtually no delay

apparently had 5G more pull IRL and so should be doing 40G, not 35G

So I think they might just be inventing a made up Aim-120C5 to fill some tiny niche upgrade for the F-18s and F-15s

Now that I have checked the datamine, it seems that they made a somewhat fictional variant which has slightly better range, but with more pull so it is better in WVR combat. But nevertheless it is still a decent
upgrade.

It’s important to note that Gaijin might change more about it in dev server updates. Maybe in a day or two it’ll get much better range, like it would do irl.

Very good rendition of mfd’s and function of internal electronic components of the Rafale. https://youtu.be/F-W0VNLCd3Q?si=4-RAj0huiezDcBMb

I think theyre just making a “fixed” 120A that theyre calling 120C cuz they dont wanna screw up the balance at 13.0

Ah that sucks…was really hoping to have a short range alternative

Cough cough “KH38MT”” cough cough….

It seems they only care about balance when it comes to western vehicles/weaponry.

Rafale cockpit light change before EFT HUD tint

Yeah… Sadly very true

The only internal change that is left is to make unique pilot model for Rafale.

Hopefully they model new pilot with fully Carbon Scorpion HMD.(even tho they rejected my bug report).

If you don’t count HUD, HMD and I believe a few MFD fixes, yeah internal is pretty much fully modeled aside from pilot

Yeah you’re right but most of them are finished or almost completed, meanwhile new pilot model will make significant change in terms of visual in both cockpit and 3rd person.

Hey Direct Support do you or anyone on your team have any background or firsthand experience with how the IRIS-T SLM is supposed to perform? We need to take a serious look at this, because as it stands, the missile is missing around 55% of its documented capability. If there’s anything you can do to escalate or support fixing this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As we focus generally in French equipment, and the IRIS-T isn’t used by French systems, we don’t have more information than say the German community. They already provided a few reports for the SLM, and it remains to see wether gaijin plans to implement them, or reject them because they don’t find it authoritative enough.

Just a reminder that dev server is only 3 days in (devs don’t work on weekends), and everything is subject to change

Unfortunately haven’t collected any sources for it as Vizender said. But maybe Benelux peeps might have sources.
