Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

the chinese are so strong that they and their aircraft can sustain 1 million Gs

Depends on what you consider “high speed” 500kph (M0.4 @SL) is super super slow (like, not that much higher than takeoff speed slow). SS states the Rafale and EFT’s highest ITR are at M0.61 (Raf) and M0.51(EFT) at SL. Increase the alt to 5000m though, and suddenly 500kph is M0.43, and the Raf and EFT’s highest (SS) ITR are stated to be at M0.88 and M0.81 respectively. Pump the altitude some more to 10km and now its 500kph is M0.46 and the highest (SS) ITR are at M1.28 and M1.19 respectively.

iirc 1c is preferred at altitude, since you still have potential energy to cash in when pulling max ITR, allowing you to fight for position using your aircrafts lift limits. 2c on the other hand is dominant on the deck (energy generation and management becomes king). Its not so much that 1c fights are meant to be had at low speeds, its that 1c fights on the deck result in low speeds. Granted, I could be misremembering my BFM basics.

he said they’re not meant to be had at high speeds. not that they have to be at low speeds. medium speed exist
even at high altitudes youre not going to be 1 circling at mach 1+ your turn radius will simply be way too wide

J-10B I think gets quite a decent engine upgrade too. But I dont think the J-10A is massively close. Though I dont really know much about Chinese aircraft

Yeah fair enough. One that arrives it can be compared

Little basic summery;

You clearly missed the part where he said:

Which is what I was pointing out is largely irrelevant, since the EFT isnt meant to be flown at low speeds, and really, being low speed in general is just not a good place to be in any jets, so saying something like “well it still flies the same in speed regimes you never wanna be in” is pointless.

Also, “medium speeds” are irrelevant to the points “you arent flying at high speeds in a 1c fight” and the above “low speed” comment.

Anyways, a quick comment regarding the comparison between the EFT and Rafales G-onset has turned into discussing the EFT nerf again. If you wanna keep discussing the EFT nerf and flight model specifically, lets do it in the EFT thread.

his another point is irrelevant. however he is also wrong

i don’t care about the eft nerf and i don’t discuss it, when people go into binaries regarding dogfightning and speeds they should be corrected
both
if we have 2 people imagining and agreeing speeds to be only low/high and nothing else then the conversation is already flawed

Always thought it was kinda funny ppl referred to the J-10 as a “Temu Eurofighter” when its much more of an “Alibaba Rafale” considering the characteristics of the jet.

Looks more similar to the EF than rafale that’s why

However in reality the “original” is IAI LAVI from israel

And only the bottom one looks any good :P

Anyway, to return to the main point of the conversation.

Rafale seems to majorily overperforming in terms of structrual limits and the Typhoon seems to be massively underperforming

let the eurofighter shine, let the rafale shine, whos gonna shine next?

Intake-wise sure, but the actual layout of the jet is a close coupled canard with a TWR closer to 1 and a wingsweep closer to the Rafales.

If the Rafale needs more than 16.5G of structural limit, then I really want to know what you are doing. That should be more than enough. 22+ is just insane.

It is also how the wing blends into the fuelsalage and the general shape of the fuelsalage

i’m sure it won’t shine the same when the next aircraft’s time to shine comes

china, when is your turn?

ofcourse gaijin knows this and does it on purpose. people will grind different aircraft when they all get to be in a spot where they appear the greatest

Chinas been getting kinda screwed update after update tbh.

Payment for how absurdly broken the J-7E is at 11.0 I guess.

good i dont play them then
im sure rafale will have a day when it also gets nerfed and we will have something else to complain about
