Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

While the DDM-NG has its own range report, the DDM on M2K was reported and currently the Rafale is stuck with Mirage 2000’s DDM range which is also underperforming:

What small caliber flares do to a man

The report will also be applicable for earlier variants of the Rafale which used SAMIR.

Interestingly, according to the manufacturer of DDM, one of the benefits of IR MAWS is that it actually has greater range than radar MAWS; however, the issue with IR MAWS (which is faced by planes such as the Eurofighter) is that it requires considerable computing power. Also interesting is that the Mirage 2000 didn’t suffer this issue - it says something of the great design of the plane more than anything.

EuroBros claiming the BRMs are biased towards the Rafale…

Just submit better reports dude, I’m happy we have some of the best bug reporters working with us to get an accurate Rafale. Maybe someday they’ll find some people like those.

Poor flame. Single handedly carried the main buffs for the EFT and barely any of his report passed

@DirectSupport It’s probably gonna be very difficult to find details like this, but since you guys are quite good at finding stuff about Rafale, perhaps you might be able to find something that shows that this is how it actually works in the Rafale IRL (if it is):

Because I have a feeling that IRL the pilots don’t have to continuously spam the lock key to lock something with the HMD and then accidentally unlock it when they get a lock etc …

Noticed while playing SB that the weapon display is inconsistant, has anyone else come across this?

Not 1:1 this, but with the EF it likes to display the wrong Icons.
Example:
You have 10 Paveways +4 Aim-120 + 4 Sidewinder
It would display stuff like 8 Brimstones, 4 Aim-120, 4 Sidewinder and 2 Paveways.
Dunno if the Rafale has this Issue too

I noticed another and rather critical issue with RBE2-AA yesterday while playing SB. @DirectSupport have you already noticed that when tracking a aircraft, which launches missiles at you and changes course, RBE2 stops tracking the aircraft and instead only tracks the missiles? For some reason TWS ESA stops working often in this szenario even though it should track the aircraft outside the current search volume.
Sometimes the Radar also switches to tracking missiles instead of aircraft on its own.

It happens quite often and on all aircraft I have the impression, the Mirage 2000-5F and the F-16 are also affected (from what I have seen).

Noticed this while playing the Su-30 these past few days, NCTR always switches from “X” jet to “rocket”, that’s so annoying to deal with, especially when you don’t have much space for a launch and you gotta reacquire target :(

Otherwise, apart from that, the HMD is still bugged, it no longer displays the designated target and puts the designation point in a random location on the map.

Noticed that as well.

I had made this bug report but no feedback on it for the moment,
Scorpion HMD issue // Gaijin.net // Issues

it’s rather annoying in simulation. And besides, the display of aerial targets is no longer done in the HMD either, whereas it appeared during the last dev server

Yes although hitting the keybind for switching TWS targets takes me back to the same aircraft 90% of the time. I’ll have to look into it because I can’t see why radars don’t discriminate against missiles when they can see the target and know its radar cross section.

I was about to make an own Report first but oh well.

They all got passed. Just gaijin turned around decided that multiple primary sources weren’t suffecient or that the primary sources were incorrect.

Passed as in Got implemented*
Ngl it has been very funny to see German mains complain about the British side of the EFT community when the British have been doing all the work

Ah right yeah. Most bug reports regarding British stuff take 2 to 3 buissness years to get fixed. Even laughably basic stuff.

Where did that happen?
