Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

7000m, 9000m at 1.5m. I have being able to shoot down people with R-77-1 at these range. But funny enough is people that actually TURN into the missile. When the thing its just hanging on the air. If they add something like Su-35s i can see the R-77-1 being a problem.

I mean now that the rafale can just reach mach 2 on a dime at high altitude i dont think we want the mica to get a buff because now that would make it the best bvr missile in the game which would be nice but annoying for everyone else that has to fight against it
The missile is already able to go past mach 4 and if you reduce its drag coefficient it will probably reach past that 50 km range
They already buffed the seeker beamwitdth on it which makes it pretty much unnotchable at 10 km if you aren’t in a delta or a plane that can perform high aoa turns plus in addition that you are now faster than ever in the rafale the missile will take 5 sec or lower to reach the target at that distances

Are now R27ET immune to flare? I’m playing with MAW On, this thing emptying all my flares and i still get hit

What aspect are you getting launched at
if its rear aspect you are kinda cooked depending on the distance but you will need to do evasive maneuvers
Side aspect can be tricky sometimes depending on the plane you are playing and your flare pattern
Front aspect always gets flared

Back I presume

Since when are they flare resistant?

a long while but no one uses them?

Not so long ago it was not that flare resistant

They have irccm

imo they were. there has been no changes to the missile i think

If you’re on afterburner and/or extremely fast ETs can track you really good from rear hemisphere. I remember knocking out some F-15s from 10-15km away while they are dropping multiple flares for a good amount of time. Ofc they were usually above 3km altitude and above mach with their engines afterburning.

ET seeker kinda acts like R-73 too, once it is too close you are most likely screwed.

They don’t need to change the drag imo, i’m pretty sure just fixing the MICA’s PID (or whatever makes it wiggle constantly) would provide a decent range increase

Missiles wiggle is related to servers, and this even less problem than MICA’s high drag

The fov of the missile before launch is 2°
When launched irccm reduces the fov to 1.33°

While the DDM-NG has its own range report, the DDM on M2K was reported and currently the Rafale is stuck with Mirage 2000’s DDM range which is also underperforming:

What small caliber flares do to a man

The report will also be applicable for earlier variants of the Rafale which used SAMIR.

Interestingly, according to the manufacturer of DDM, one of the benefits of IR MAWS is that it actually has greater range than radar MAWS; however, the issue with IR MAWS (which is faced by planes such as the Eurofighter) is that it requires considerable computing power. Also interesting is that the Mirage 2000 didn’t suffer this issue - it says something of the great design of the plane more than anything.

EuroBros claiming the BRMs are biased towards the Rafale…

Just submit better reports dude, I’m happy we have some of the best bug reporters working with us to get an accurate Rafale. Maybe someday they’ll find some people like those.

Poor flame. Single handedly carried the main buffs for the EFT and barely any of his report passed

@DirectSupport It’s probably gonna be very difficult to find details like this, but since you guys are quite good at finding stuff about Rafale, perhaps you might be able to find something that shows that this is how it actually works in the Rafale IRL (if it is):

Because I have a feeling that IRL the pilots don’t have to continuously spam the lock key to lock something with the HMD and then accidentally unlock it when they get a lock etc …
