Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance

Fair enough.

They dont claim that Strv122’s should be in German tech tree, they are saying the armor on 122’s developed by German company so Germany should also recieve similiar armored Leopards.

At least thats what sane German players says.

I must have missed the sane ones then. Though that claim is not much of an improvement, otherwise the Brits and Swedes could get nigh everything on account of BAE involvement in spall rubbish and such. But it is definitely better than “122 to our tree because reasons”.

Though this is derailing and unrelated, so wrapping up now.

From what I see on here most of the ground players tend to have “interesting” opinions

Most of them are jealous people who wants to see every other nations vehicles in their favourite tree, kinda like people who wants to see Indıan Su-30/Rafale and F-18 or UAE Leclerc and M1A2 on British tree.

to me the funniest of them all are the ones who cry russian bias despite never playing a russian vehicle in war thunder.

… I agree that the Pantsir and KH-38 are powerful but that dosent justify comments like this imo:

KH38’s are powerful until enemy team spawns with proper CAP plane, when that happens SU-34 becomes food.

As for the Pantsir, while its true that its the best Spaa platform at top tier any competetent pilot can easily avoid and destroy it with little effort.

Spaa’s at top tier generally helpless against any good pilot.

yeah they are powerful until you try actively countering them but for some reason alot of players dont understand that
they rather try to dogfight with their fully loaded f-15e and then cry about it when they lose

Even then F-15E will still win the dogfight 80 percent of the time.

I’ve also noticed most complaining players about KH-38’s are the EFT pilots, guess they got dissapointed when they learned they cannot spam 18 F&F Brimstone missiles while having one of the best airframe that can challenge anything in air.

In order to get us back on track I brought some Egyptian Rafales

The F-15E has 20x GBU-39/B, in future that may well be extended to the, 39A/B (Laser SBD-I) GBU-53/B or AGM-187A/B.

let alone the potential for 13x (15x) CBU-105 / -103 and other ordnance that the F-15E(X) could use to ruin ground forces days if they are ever implemented.

TBH they should give Brimstone at least limited F&F capability

Make it F&F but also make it defeatable by smoke grenades, if you think it will be too OP.

It might not be 100% realistic, but it’s at least better than not giving it any F&F capability at all …

It could be explained by the smoke grenades also having chaff mixed in them or something … (For example IIRC naval ships can deploy chaff along with smoke)

Isn’t that a thing most modern tanks actually have?

We know that it was deployed at some point, as to if it remains in inventory is unknown.

The advanced development program for the M81 grenade was conducted from 1987 to 1992. in the transition to full scale development, the Operational Requirements Document (ORD) required the grenade to provide IR and MM instead of just MM protection The Grenade, Launcher, Smoke: Millimeter/Infrared (MM/IR) Screening, M81 (Figure 17) was type classified in 1995 and is scheduled to begin production in 1998

From all emitting on-board radar devices only radars can be detected by RWRs.
MAWs, radar altimeters, doppler nav radars (for ground speed measurement) and others are not detected by RWRs due the gameplay reasons. They also can’t be switched off in the game, which doesn’t allow players to switch between better situation awareness and “better stealth”.

In this case Rafale should receive both Optic and Radar MAW as when a missile is detected by the DDM NG, Rafale sensor fusion uses AESA antenas used for jamming to get the missile position and JAM it. Considering in game jamming still doesn’t exist it should at least get the capability to track precisely incoming missiles detected by the DDM NG.

Hello @k_stepanovich,

Unlike radar-based MAWS, aircrafts in top-tier generally all use radar altimeters, doppler nav radars so there’s no advantage going to any particular nation or particular aircraft if they are or aren’t modeled to be detected.

However, aircrafts with radar-based MAWS are few and far in-between and do not have their disadvantages modeled compared to aircrafts with IR-based MAWS. The disadvantages with radar-based MAWS being that they’re susceptible to signal intercept as well as diminished range from jamming although jamming is not in the game.

If radar-based MAWS are not going to have their disadvantages modeled, will there be a consideration to removing disadvantages of IR-based MAWS? IR-based MAWS have the disadvantages of:

  • Being susceptible to flares and missiles of false-alarm
  • Diminished capacity due to inclement weather
  • Diminished range against burnt-out missiles

Your position would be consistent if the disadvantages of IR-based MAWS are not modeled. Further, if necessary, why not implement a keybind to switch it off in-game? And for the most part, the Praetorian DASS MAWS operates in K-band which most aircrafts cannot detect and this should lessen the issue:

It does not make sense and nor is it fair to have multiple disadvantages of IR-based MAWS intricately modeled in full details while ignoring the biggest disadvantage of radar-based MAWS.

Anyway, that’s an interesting figure for F-35’s DAS. Though not suprising to be honest.

Will be funny to see that come to game eventually.
