Tbh, I think ARB MM does need to be fully random. Playing FGR4 in lucky in that I can avoid playing against the Rafale quite often, but it does create a large degree of unfairness at the same time. Would be especially good if France could be on both teams too. Though Israel likely getting Rafale soon would resolve that too
Personally, I have an opinion that won’t please everyone.
I don’t think the Rafale is the best plane, but the Mica is simply the missile best suited to the game.
In the current state of the game, there isn’t a single aircraft that can counter the Rafale simply because the game scenario favors the use of the Mica missile. Every match ends with aircraft very close to each other, which completely benefits the missile.
Regardless of any buffs that might be applied to specific nations, this remains true and will continue to be true. The missile is simply the most suitable weapon for the combat situations presented by the game.
I think the only thing that would make the Rafale “less effective” would be a reduction or even elimination of multipath and spawns that are much higher and further away, which would make missiles like the AIM-120 more appealing.

That would just hide the problem by attenuating the win rates… in arb we need to balance vehicles more than nations

Israel and Uk certainly doesn’t need any type of Rafale while maybe just maybe Japan could recieve it and even then I’m completely oppose to this idea.
Gaijin already killed many vehicles uniquness due to adding multiple nations despite not bein main users, this should stop at some point.

For me, I’m fine with Israel and Japan getting the rafale. I’m against for the UK getting it simply because they already have the gripen and EFT. Having one singular country get access to all 3 eurocanards would for me defeat the purpose of having trees.
Given Israel lacks a true top tier, especially something with AESA, I’d guess they’ll be first

My opinion is that Rafale primary reason for being as strong as it is in game is down to MICA-EM. That seeker width of 7° makes defeating the angle gating harder than all other missiles in game. Factors that contribute are of course the FM and Sensors;
But as we’ve seen an equally as capable FM/Sensor set on the AESA Typhoons didn’t net the same performance, adding further HOBS capability with the SU-30SM2’s radar didn’t dethrone Rafale even with R-77-1 being a very capable missile and now in receipt of DL updates for even the hardest HOBS shots.
It’s simply the MICA-EM with its improved seeker has a much much higher pK than all other missiles when fired at there most optimal launch conditions. The defender against a MICA-EM has alot less room for error when defeating it.
(edit this is in the context of a standard air RB match, FM matters more than MICA-EM for those who do 1v1 dog fighting.)

I agree that Israel doesn’t need a Rafale for now, F-15SG which is basically an F-15E with AESA would suffice as a 14.7 option but it seems there’s nothing else left as an option when it comes to 15.0+ and beyond besides the F-35. I’m not sure what options are available to Japan.
Good thing though is that while Gaijin may hand out Rafale F3Rs and Rafale F4.1s to others, only France as of now to my understanding has Rafale F4.2 which would get MICA NG EM/IR missiles, and upgraded radar/jammers.
