False. Can’t be falser than that. Manufacturers put the numbers they obtain in trial rooms. With 0% channel loss.
Engine manufacturers. Not aircraft manufacturers.
Even them.
Come back to me once you have evidence for that one. The losses for a twin engine aircraft are much, much more dramatic than just channel losses and i’d expect a loss in the double digit %, which would be catastrophic for the TWR. Either these are installed values or both aircrafts’ TWR are significantly lower (very unlikely)
Even then Mr I know all. Here DirectSupport made calculations using in game numbers.
And if you actually play the game you’d know the following :
FIRST :
Rafale M88-2 each have 7330 kgf which aren’t equal to a thrust of 7,5 kN
EFT engines also have inferior to 9kN thrust per engine (Arround 8,600-8700kgf in game)
So your calculations are false anyway since they don’t apply to the game.
SECOND :
In game Typhoon weight is incorrect (Arround 11220kg instead of 11000kg)
which impacts TWR.
So try to prove me wrong but the guy calculating real life crap while we talk about the game is you.
Dude that’s the problem
If the irl numbers dont apply to the goddamn game, there’s an issue.
That’s called a historical inaccuracy
“The game is correct because the values in game are equal to the values in game” is absolutely not an argument in any regard. I am pointing out the performances in game do not align with what you’d expect from the actual manufacturer values, in absolute or relative terms.
Oh my bad didn’t know WT was a BLOODY 1:1 SIMULATOR. Frankly get out there you are ruining the conversation and the thread.
Language.
Historical inaccuracies are an established basis for bug reports. In fact they’re the reason the Rafale is where it is now. I am pointing out that the performance in game does not align with how it should likely perform according to manufacturer values.
This might be a nice big buff to missiles like MICA and R-27ER that accelerate very fast.
I took this screenshot from Via who had tested it on dev-server
Holy moly.
Just tested this, can definitely see a difference.
Gonna try the good old 27ER now.
1,500 m/s is 5,400 km/h so doesn’t that suggest the issue is still present (munitions hit a wall and stop accelerating at 5,400 km/h)?
You’re right, it seems it still hits a wall but this time it will be in the endspeed of the munition file rather than a global limit I guess is what the change is. The endspeed for the MICA is 1,500m/s in its file. However for the R-27ER it will be the one to benefit from this change I suppose, and any other missile with an endspeed higher than 1,500m/s.
I imagine this was mostly done with the 1550m/s+ SAMs in mind. The effect on A/A munitions will be marginal at best unfortunately.
Last time I checked with tuned up custom missiles, global end speed was set for speeds above Mach 6. If my missile reached it, it despawned and disappeared.
In my report I had shown that missiles couldn’t reach above Mach 5.12, so I’m curious to see how that was possible.
Just a few quick polls in light of the dev-server and the state of the Rafale. Currently the Rafale had a flight model buff which gives it some breathing room in terms of fighting against air-to-air threats, but should efforts be more focused towards surface to air threats?
- No, efforts should still be focused on air to air threats
- Yes, efforts should be focused towards the new surface-to-air threats such as Buk-M3, IRIS-T SLM, and Sky Sabre
Should a dev-server thread be made urging developers to implement solutions that will strengthen Rafale’s air to surface capabilities?
- Yes, a dev-server thread should be made presenting developers several options to buff the Rafale’s air to surface capabilities.
- No, a dev-server thread isn’t necessary.
Not gonna lie, current CAS (let it be GBU-39, Kh-38, LMUR, AASM, SPICE 250 or whatever) is strong enough even against the new SAMs - as long as even the IRIS-T SLM with IIR seeker and Datalink struggles against glidebombs and Kh-38s even, I don’t see a reason to add even stronger / “spammier” stuff.
While slightly off-topic; the actual focus now should be proper balancing all of this stuff, especially Maps need to be rethinked, as these SAM are bascially unable to leave the spam and hide somewhere, or move their TELs to other locations properly.
Multi-tracking of targets, how the search Radars work etc must also be looked at again, before we should even think about added things like Cruise-Missiles or even ARM, let alone MMW which i think would dominate a lot more than some may believe.
15.3 at this point
The Rafale should be entirely barred from playing vs any jets that are not the current 14.3 ones, and even then, its way too overtuned and would likely still dominate. Shunting it off to a BR where it can be by itself and have the least negative impact on the enjoyement of literally all other players but the french players abusing this jet would be massively beneficial for balance at top tier, and by extension, general player enjoyement. I have no idea what the devs are thinking.
