It’s 950 exactly from what I can see in the files.
I was speaking of bzfore update and dev compared to after update. But yeah since the last dev iteration it has more drag. Nowhere near as much a before tho
Tbh think most of the reduced drag now comes from actually lofting rather than being a glorified ARH ASRAAM like it was before.
Maneuverability got buffed twice compared to last patch for MICA while retaining more energy.
MICA_Old was last patch
MICA_Dev was dev-server
MICA is now the one on live server.
Spoiler

You can see how it has the highest speed while the smallest turn radius. Thanks to @viridiano for the picture.
Also viridiano showed a video showing the range/time-to-target performance of MICA. The live MICA is the one in the front of the pack.
Spoiler
how does new live server MICA compare to AIM-120A/D
AIM-120A performance’s relative to the MICA became worse this update while the AIM-120D’s performance’s relative to the MICA became better.
Medium range relative performance:
AIM-120A: Became worse
AIM-120D: Stayed the same/kept on par
Long range relative performance:
AIM-120A: Stayed the same
AIM-120D: Became better
No reason to use AIM-120A over the AIM-120D anymore.
finally, after a year and 3 months
is it just me or is the rafale radar only detecting aircraft at ~74km this update? I hopped in the aesa typhoon and f2 and have been able to see people at 80km+ just fine
It’s always been like that, detecting planes at 74km or less.
weird, maybe I just haven’t played it in ages
is there any reasoning for it? or is that just how it is
RBE2 AA is a very small and weak radar compared to other AESA. only 550-600mm diameter and 838 TRM
I just didn’t submit reports yet for the radar ranges. Should have a radar range of ~230km against fighter jets.
ah okay, It felt really off that the rafale of all things would have such a low detection range
that seems very high considering everything else about the radar, are you sure its not for larger targets?
It only seems high because other AESA radars ingame are severely gimped and you’re using them as comparisons when they’re not configured at all correctly.
maybe, but even then you need to consider that the fighter jets they are talking about would most likely be Flankers, unless Rafale was made with other fighters considered as its primary opponent? and they have RCS of ~10-15m^2
France has always gone by RCS of 5m^2. Nothing of the sort of flankers. An RCS of 10-15m^2 for 235km would make it on par with the RDY radar when the RBE2-AA is said to have 50% more range compared to the previous generation.
Also interesting that you would think the 230km for a fighter type of 3-5m^2 is too much for an AESA while Irbis-E using PESA does 300km for a fighter types of 3m^2.
a big, high power hybrid PESA like the IRBIS-E with a planar slotted array can get quite high ranges against 1 target in specific conditions at the cost of pretty much everything else
even mechanical scan radars do not strictly have worse ranges, RDY-2 is a pretty high power antenna with a larger diameter than RBE2. i think it should be worse than the AESA version of RBE2 though
