It was already reported alongside many other Exocet reports.

But it is.: it’s a report for the ongoing dev server about a missile that recently received a rework.

Was the missile diameter wrong before the dev server? If yes then it’s not

The missile diameter is 0.165 m on the live server, the devs changed it to 0.160 m on the Dev server, he has made a report to revert it back to 0.165 m.

My apologies for misunderstanding then

Also, it seems R-77-1 has now taken over the MICA in terms of medium-range HOBS where you combine maneuverability and speed. One of MICA’s best previous advantage now lost to the R-77-1, seemingly due to the reduced topspeed:

Thanks to @viridiano for testing.

Rafale F5 now confirmed to get “increased ammunition carrying capacity”.

Would it be possible to share the source ?

Maybe there’s some info on Stratus in there

Additional pylons? Or will double or triple launchers be added?
It might be good if Meteor payload increases. F4 can only carry 4?

I suspect the inner fuel tank pylons will be opened up to carry air to air missiles, with a capacity of up to 11 air to air missiles on the F5.

Yes 4 max currently.

More bullets for the gun

Considering a new A2A missile is also being developed and MICA EM NGs relatively small form factor, a dual Pylon is not unlikely either IMO.

Wouldn’t that be something, the lesson from the war that the Rafale participated in is for more bullets for the gun lol.

I would love to see this but France is allergic to making dual pylons for air to air missiles.

Obviously, dual racks are for dumb munitions and dumb munitions alone. Not allowed to stick missiles on them, is the nature of things.

Nothing that new on Stratus, arrival on F5 in 2035 and supersonic

“Comète” AAM to enter in service in 2030 on F4 and replace Meteor.
Talking of Comète :

https://www.senat.fr/compte-rendu-commissions/20260504/etran.html

=> Translation
“It is, right now, a different missile from meteor. For deadline reaons, we won’t give ourselves the time to get a very long range missile (understand, in this context : longer range compared to meteor) : we need, for 2030, a missile with similar range. It is, however, possible to think about a longer range version in an incremental mindset (pardon the poor translation, but the formulation is quite weird, even in french). Will it use the same technological base used for Comète, or a new technology based on what was done for Stratus RS ? (sentence ends brutally here, but I assume it means they have not decided yet)”

So TL;DR;
It is supposed to have a range similar to Meteor and to other missiles being, but not longer range in its first iteration.
Longer range will be either achieved by incremental improvments to Comète design, or by adapting tech developped for Stratus.
This leads me to believe Comet will be an enlarged MICA NG, multiple stage, high loft, mainly because it would be easier to develop in a 4 year time frame, and also because it would also likely end up being less expensive, but this is just my guess

Yeah I don’t see them making a Meteor 2.0 just for it to be same range as Meteor. Would then be MICA NG enlarged.
