Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance - Part 2

properly the same place as the PAVEWAY IV nerf

The source used to buff the AASM to Mach 1.4 release speed was a falsified source, another primary AASM source states that the AASM release speed was “up to subsonic speed” or similar language. It is likely that an internal report was done on this reverting the Mach 1.4 change.

why do i smell wareta there

He was actually innocent regarding this. We tracked down the original source and determined the source was indeed falsified and then tracked down the original person that contributed the source and they were unrelated to Wareta. It’s a shame this happened but oh well.

Wareta appears to have used images of the fabricated source in their forum thread: The AASM 'Hammer' - History, Design, Performance & Discussion

It is easy to find the original document online so are you saying that someone else sent him images of the source and he never checked it against the version online?

Are we surprised though?

To add to this, and for reference, here’s the original document
image

No mention of M1.4

We really need to put the screenshot AND the link so it does not happen again next time, whenever possible (which was clearly the case here)

Damocles incorrect max FoV:

He was given a full PDF with only this specific thing changed yes. He did not himself falsified the document. However it’s true that he made a mistake by not fact checking with the actual online link.

Yup. And to be fair this should have been standard from the get go. It’s just complicated things sometimes, especially since some sources have dead links now, and weren’t correctly archived (or archives were shut down due to a request), but it should prevent such things from happening again

I checked, just a bunch of avionic modeling for damage model.

Someone else sent in a discord server the actual edited file to him, not images. And the edited file looked very much authentic. Discord has time-stamped messages so we were able to forward those messages to a CM and show that the edited file was given to a tech mod, but it wasn’t enough to have the decision reversed.

Exocet was added to the files

If it’s a 2000s F-22A I think it should be fine. But I would prefer it to come later than sooner.

Yeah an early F-22A would be fair, but when that happens I can already feel a specific type of players pouring into the forums to whine in mass about, either how the F-22A is underperforming and must be buffed to match their tiktok edits, or how the F-22A is op because 5th and so they must get the latest 5th gen in existence to counter it

And we still won’t see it for another 12 months, if their track record is indicative.

But who knows, maybe.

And then it won’t work properly for another 12 months

If we’re fortunate lol
