Dassault Rafale - Variants, Characteristics, Armament and Performance - Part 2

Problem with these theories is these domestic weapons were never integrated onto the Rafale due to refusal/denial to hand over source codes required for integration.

It was done before they were delivered afaik

I’m confused, are you saying they integrated Rampage missiles for India before it was delivered to India because it was in the secure possession of France?

Sources still as of now state no domestic Indian weapons have been integrated for India still, and there’s no pictures of domestic weapons on Rafales as of this date.

Only one I’ve seen and sources mention, is UAE Al-Tariq bombs that was shown off next to it at airshows, still no integration has occurred.

Umbani :)

Explain?

Technically exocets can be carried under the wet pylons if I’m not mistaken, I remember seeing a picture of the first Rafale M prototype with an exocet under the right wing. Unless this compatibility was lost afterwards, it’s possible

Prob could be scalp then

If it were any larger it would overlap with the fuel tank. Personally I think the Eurofighter stores MFD generally looks nicer / more accurate (in terms of stores size / shape) than the Rafale one.

If you could find those pictures I would love to see it. All I’ve seen is a single Exocet under the central pylon.

Looks like the new deal for 100 or so aircraft would include the rafale opening its pylons for Indian armement, so it’s unlikely those are currently opened to anything other than French A2A weapons

I can’t find them again, I remember I found them completely randomly while doing research on something else… I’ll get back to you if I manage to pull them from the abyss of internet again

I would assume it’s a scalp. The fins at the back seem somewhat fitting and the box close to the back looks like the wing box of the actual scalp.
But true, it’s weird that it’s so hard to fin pictures of the scalp on the weapon display.

It can carry PGMs on the wet pylons as well. I am certain there is a picture of a Rafale in the factory (anechoic chamber) with one PGM mounted on the left wing and a SCALP on the right wing wet pylons.
Idk how stuff works, but for the M2K EG, afaik, the Pylons that can carry PGMs can also carry Exocets

On that note, why do we have no PGMs for the Rafale? No documentation showing it can carry them?

Edit: I meant this pic

Good question, I guess all focus was on the AASM, I do have a Dassault book that features a picture of a Rafale mounting a PGM like this as well, I’ll add it to the list of reports to be done.

tbh, Unless they can be run at the same time as the AASMs why would you ever actually use the PGMs?

Even at 11.7 I dont bother anymore. They never reach the target before being intercepted and they are missing more than half their range

So except for maybe some niche use in ASB or as a random extra decoy to fire at top tier, they probably arent worth the effort of reporting

I like having variety and options to play with in EC. Using the wet pylons for something other than fuel tanks sounds cool.

Also in the future with the F4, we could have 3x1000kg AASM plus PGM maybe? If they don’t wanna give SCALP yet. Depends on the weight limits. Idk, I just like having everything the aircraft can get irl in-game too.

Also if the pylon having the ability to carry PGMs leads to Gaijin allowing to carry 3 Exocets then I’m all for it, since anti-ship missiles are my guilty pleasure.

It also can’t use AS-30L in game can it?
