Damage "calculation"

How often have you been surprised that Gaijin advertises Warthunder as a “realistic” tank game with faithful damage calculations. But the game is so inconsistent in its damage “calculation”. Don’t you also think that there is more emphasis on RNG than on REAL damage calculation?

This is a video game. There is a limit to realism.

As you said it yourself, its all just a marketing trick, nothing more

There’s limited amounts of “partial penetrations” in the game, + volumetric being an arse. In War Thunder your round either pens or doesn’t 99% of the time.
The game engine + our devices cannot do full penetration simulations every time we shoot, its not really possible considering those simulations take multiple hours to render.
