Dagor Open Sourced

Well, this was unexpected.

I don’t really know the best place to ask about this, so general seems to most appropriate.

Any community guys round here got the low down on why Gaijin decided to make Dagor open source? @Smin1080p you normally know what’s going on.

Simply to encourage more people to become familiar with dagor and its benefits. Allowing people to learn and develop with it.

It’s really great to see gaijin do this. It’s very rare big developers contribute to open source where it’s their own internal code they are open sourcing.

It’s always good to have another engine option, and Dagor, despite its age, is a pretty good engine that holds up extremely well for performance and visuals on even low powered systems. Anyway, now unity has thrown itself off a cliff we need another good engine to pick from.
